We all now a probably old geek that refuses to see how things grow and refuse to move into new software/hardware. So let's post the most stupid things these guys say, i've got two: "Windows 2000 beats 7" - 2012 "SDHC cards are as fast as ssd" -2013
"1GB of RAM is sufficient!" - My Dad.
"Your PC isn't fast enough to handle data going through on a Minecraft server." - some random 14yr old minecraft server owner.
Wait I got other one: "My gtx 690 is better than your TITAN" -Some stupid 10 year old to my sister
"I've got a 34-bit operating system" - Persistent douche
"We like, don't have a router we just have Wifi" -retarded female friend of mine at her house
"I've got a 34-bit operating system" - Persistent douche
I have a 31 bit OS.
I have a 31 bit OS.
My light switches all run on a 1-bit OS!
"1GB of RAM is sufficient!" - My Dad.
to be honest you are using an outdated IE
to be honest you are using an outdated IE
I'm not actually. I'm on an underpowered netbook computer which actually has 1GB RAM. Heh. I'm using a user-agent switcher for Chromium on Linux to force websites to show me their lighter versions. http://screencloud.net/v/oi48
I don't feel like quoting every single one of MIPS' posts
Wait I got other one: "My gtx 690 is better than your TITAN" -Some stupid 10 year old to my sister
what? does your sister own a gtx titan or what
I'm still amazed how many people don't understand that the monitor is not the computer. "Wait so you have four computers?" "No, I just have four monitors..." "oh....okay...*awkwardly fakes understanding" -Most people.
People just don't understand that you can plug 2 screens into one PC.
You know how many times I've had someone over and heard an audible confused/surprised "ohh" under their breath when I drug a window across my screens? Literally over 5 times, it's hilarious. It's also frustrating that my girlfriend does not use my secondary monitors when she's on my PC, she just keeps everything piled up on the main...
People have been genuinely taken aback when they saw that I can move the mouse cursor, or even whole windows, across displays.
My cousin has been over to my house quite a bit, she still thinks I am using 3 computers at a time.

"Whaddaya mean, so you have 2 computers too?" "No, just 2 screens connected to my PC" "how [sup]how[/sup] [sup][sup]how???[/sup][/sup] The weather is quite nice today, isn't it?"

Never really got used to it and normally just used my main one anyway (My main one is the biggest anyway). It's a sort of thing you have to get used to. I used to like it when I ran a Minecraft server at one time though, having the server log/SSH open on one screen and the actual game on the other. The annoying thing on Windows was though that if you tried to use your secondary monitor to browse the internet etc and had a fullscreen game open then it took you out of the game. Thank god for 'Windowed fullscreen'.
My dad wants a goddamn Intel i7 computer. Which is hilarious because on his older Pentium Dual Core (runs Windows Vista), he just does basic tasks, playing music, downloading movies (oh my poor bandwidth), stuff like that. I mean WHY in the world would he need a damn i7 computer? He will be better off with a Intel Celeron.
He will be better off with a Intel Celeron.
Nobody was ever better off with Intel Celery.

The speed increase will probably be enough to put him off.
I have a celery, its painful :c
Can't be more painful than an atom.
Can't be more painful than an atom.
I can forgive the Atom line because of it's ridiculously low TDP...
Wait I got other one: "My gtx 690 is better than your TITAN" -Some stupid 10 year old to my sister
I'm sorry to say but in some circumstances it is: [t]http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_Titan_SLI/images/perfrel_1920.gif[/t] [t]http://www.techoftomorrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/RE6-GTX-690-vs-GTX-Titan-Benchmark.001.jpg[/t] [t]http://cdn.overclock.net/7/78/78e3681e_AvPOC.jpeg[/t] [t]http://videocardz.com/images/2013/02/NEW-GTX-Titan-Score-OBR.png[/t] [t]http://www.bjorn3d.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Far-Cry-3-Surround.jpg[/t]
We should rename this thread to "Computer Illiterate People Who Think They Know Things."
"I use Windows XP because Windows 7 is too bloated and unoptimised"
"I use Windows XP because Windows 7 is too bloated and unoptimised"
In some cases that actually holds water. For example on ultra low end computers, (VIA Pico-ITX machines, in my case) Windows 7 can be near unusable. Windows XP is the lightest version of Windows that someone can use and still be functional.
"Macs don't need RAM." [editline]21st June 2013[/editline] I shit you not.
