• Monitor says "analog" then shuts off

Hello there, I recently just purchased a viewsonic VA912B monitor for 5 bucks at a yard sale in the ghetto and it worked fine for about 3 hours then I shut it off. Well when I tried to get it back on it just says analog and turns on for the message to show then shuts off. Any idea how to fix this? I was thinking it may be power saver related but no idea how to change that due it shutting off so quick.
Maybe they sold it because it was broke. The VGA cable could be faulty or something
I agree with Asm should like a vga cable or could be a faulty monitor that's why they sold it so cheap, i don't think it could be a power saver problem because you had it working for 3 hours before. Make ssure the VGA cable is all the way in.

So I opened it up and found out some of the capacitors were bulging. Honestly it may not be worth it to fix it.

Just try hot glue on the capacitors.
