Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet's power problems.
Moon was directed by Duncan Jones, written by Duncan Jones (original story) and Nathan Parker (screenplay).
Actors
Sam Rockwell (Sam Bell)
Kevin Spacey (GERTY's voice (robot) )
Dominique McElligott (Tess Bell)
Rosie Shaw (Little Eve)
Adrienne Shaw (Nanny)
Kaya Scodelario (Eve)
Benedict Wong (Thompson)
Matt Berry (Overmeyers)
Malcolm Stewart (Technician)
Robin Chalk (Sam Bell clone)
Got to see a screening of this movie with the director and producer (who did a Q&A afterwards) while in London, it was fantastic. One of my favorite sci-fi films.
Can't wait for the rest of the trilogy, even if it is just loosely connected.
This is a great film, good soundtrack too.
Does anyone else keep noticing music from this in documentaries or other TV shows?
Loved that movie so much.
I liked it, but I found it hard to get over some of the borrowing from 2001, granted both of them are great movies in their own rights, and in the bigger scheme of themes different movies, but some things stuck out too much for me.
Love this movie. Sam Rockwell is so underused and underrated. He is amazing in The Green Mile aswell.
I also love Kevin Spacey's voice as Gerty
I have this immortalised on my TV recorder. Great film.

Also Gerty is great.
I saw this last night, it was a great movie and great acting.
Saw this a few nights ago, great movie.
I was streaming it, and had the INCEPTION sound effect noise button open on my browser, as soon as the plot twist hit I hit it, many laughs ensued.
Great movie, the ping pong scene is my favorite part.
I personally talked to the main CG guy who worked on Moon a few weeks ago. He said he caught the actor who plays Sam Bell smoking a joint in the airlock several times. Also, anyone notice Sam Bell's tattoo in the movie? Turns out, it's a real tattoo, and it's not what you think. It's a chicken with a noose around it's neck. He got it so he can tell people that he has "a hung cock." :v:
Love this movie. It seems like less prominent movies that are set in space are usually really good :v:.
Good film, I hope they end up doing a sequel.
I watched it last week. It was a great movie, I especially loved the untwist[sp]turns out GERTY is the good guy he appears to be[/sp]
I absolutely loved this film.
GERTY [sp]reverse twist was so awesome[/sp]
I still need to see this.
Looks so interesting.
[sp]I was so expecting GERTY to be evil. I was pleasantly surprised. "I wanted to help you."[/sp]

GERTY's smile was the best
i love moon :J
Literally just finished watching this film. Loved it. I admit I did feel slightly underwhelmed by the story/plot (Only because I like dialogue heavy/plot heavy films), but everything else was brilliant, the direction and acting was superb.
Great movie. Fantastic stuff.
Watched parts of it on TV. I need to see the full movie I guess.
watched this on netflix, haven't regretted it. superb sci-fi film, one of the best of this millennium (top 5 easily).

Yeah, you can't pick up this movie in the middle and expect to understand it very well.
Anyone know when the sequel's coming out or has it not been announced yet?
Isn't Source Code going to be in the same universe as this?

(same director/writer fyi)
my favorite film still to this day.
Gerty is adorable. He is if GLaDOS, HAL, and Sonny from IRobot had a child. :3

No and Duncan didn't write source code, someone else did.
