What's the highest allowed video resolution on iPhone 3G?

Uh. Title. I tried google, but the iPhone 4 results are blocking my view.
Movies, y'know.
According to This:
384x288 on the first software, 320x400 on the second: pretty poor by todays standards. Appears the iPhone 3G doesn't actually do video recording without an app.
Not video recording, silly, I meant video playback. Movies 'n shiz.
Ideality does not interest me. I'm looking for the max allowed! :v:
My mistake, the resolution of the screen is 320x480 so I would assume the videos would be downscaled to run at that resolution. I don't see you running really high res videos on it considering its old hardware and at the time it wasn't built to run 720p videos.
I'm pretty sure the max is 768x576 since you can get a TV Output plug to connect it to your TV, but when we are at the only iPhone screen, just go with 320x480 because it's going to be downscaled. The videos higher than 768x576 will probably be not synced. I can't even play 720p on my iPhone 3GS if I recall correctly.
It's just a waste of space anyway.
