I'm currently waiting for my order on the G35 headset, but does anyone here have one already? If so, what are your experiences with them? How's the sound? What did you use before? How's the build quality? Thanks.
They're actually quite nice. [editline]12:01PM[/editline] Good sound quality with nice features for a decent price. [editline]12:02PM[/editline] Got mine new off ebay for 80 bucks. Look there if you don't want to shell out a lot. I've had a go of some. Fun little voice changer on them. But yeah great quialty headphones.
I experienced it a bit heavy, but not uncomfortable. One of the few headsets that don't give me a headache because of my glasses (shit hurts if it's too tight, which a lot of headsets are). The sound is very clean and it has a great bass.
After seeing other posts I got the idea that the G-series were gimmicky, but I always knew Logitech were awesome.

Right now I've got the Microsoft LX3000 headset. How big of an improvement can I expect?
How much did you get it for?
20 pounds, new legit.
20 pounds, new legit.
So a European retailer? Dang.
There are much better for cheaper. [editline]02:57PM[/editline] 20 pounds? How the fuck? You got a good deal then, nevermind.
They're alright, the 7.1 surround stuff is gimmicky. They are not too bad on the sound quality but if you're mainly looking for sound quality you're probably not gonna find something with a mic built in that sounds amazing.

And yeah, it even includes shipping :buddy: [editline]07:06PM[/editline]
They're alright, the 7.1 surround stuff is gimmicky.
Much better for cheaper, such as? And yeah, it even includes shipping :buddy: [editline]07:06PM[/editline] Gimmicky? How so?
It's not real 7.1.

How so?
I don't really like it at all, I never saw the point in software simulated surround sound. I guess some people may or may not like it, but considering the price you paid for it you should be happy with it.
It's not real 7.1.
I figured that out, but I've heard that it does quite a good job at simulating it.
if you're mainly looking for sound quality you're probably not gonna find something with a mic built in that sounds amazing.
How about Sennheiser PC350
I figured that out, but I've heard that it does quite a good job at simulating it.
So does Creative CMSS-3D. [editline]03:14PM[/editline]
How about Sennheiser PC350
Close, but no. They're too muddy and have way too much bass.
Where'd you order it from? I'd love to get it that cheap.
Where'd you order it from? I'd love to get it that cheap.
My thoughts exactly.
Where'd you order it from? I'd love to get it that cheap.
Neither of you can get it basically. [editline]02:08PM[/editline] For different reasons, Dryer may find out by himself but you're out of luck either way Wolfie
I figured that out, but I've heard that it does quite a good job at simulating it.
Virtual surround sound is infact very good. My old pair (that recently broke) did a great job. L4D sounds amazing with it.
20 pounds, new legit.
I know where u got them from.. i have a friend who has a set ordered too ;)
Virtual surround sound is infact very good. My old pair (that recently broke) did a great job. And does anyone know how big of a step-up it is from this: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/digitalcommunication/productdetails.aspx?pid=006 Microsoft LX3000

I'm expecting the G35 to blow it away when I get it.
How's the average (stereo) sound quality? Seeing as not every game supports 5.1/7.1 I've heard.
Sorry, I didn't make it very clear. It was a different set of headphones I had, not the G35's.
It's the ultimate experience.
I have the LX3000, I thought it was really great quality for it's price. If I get it first, I'll tell you how it is to build up the suspension :buddy:
Have a read here.
Have a read here.
It seems one has that problem and the other doesn't. I think that had to do with driver issues since it was posted 6 months ago and they might've updated it. Seeing as the surround sound is a big feature on that thing I highly doubt this is a widespread problem or one not addressed by Logitech already.
The G keys on it are useless, but any problems that are before like October 2009 are irrelevant today. They made better drivers for it.
