Just noticed the "job thread" and decided to make my own as this tip can help quite alot out of you.
Ok, the story behind this is that my friend applied for a job at the CO-OP (supermarket), and me and a few friends decided to prank call him and say that he had been offered an interview and told him to come down to the store at a specific time and ask for mark. He believed us totally, but an hour before the FAKE interview, he phoned the shop up and double checked to see if the interview was defiantly on. The guy on the phone said that there must have been a mistake but there was a job opening and told him to come down for a REAL interview. Obviously then, he knew that he got pranked, but the main thing is that when you phone them up or go into the store smartly dressed ready for the interview you try and make out that there system has mad a mistake. Also, dont go into a random store and do it, make sure there is actually a job opportunity, otherwise you will look like a complete donut. We have done this prank twice, and both times they have got a job interview. First time, was the story above, and the second time we done it to some dude that applied for a job at JD and he needs the money for his baby (his 16 btw), so we thought it would be kinda funny him turning up and the manager telling him to fuck off, but after that we figured out that we could all get jobs by doing this.
So yeh, go out there and get a job. Report back once you have succeeded. Goodluck comrades.
Unless they say "no we don't have any openings". Which is most likely to happen.
Which makes everything that you just wrote completely pointless. Good job.
Mods, I believe this guy is pranking us.
Can I have a job as a mod please?
What did I just read?
SWAG
why not just apply like a normal fucking person

what is wrong with you
I've actually used this method to get hired, and one more.
I walk into a store/restaurant/business and look around for who is missing. If they are consistently short staffed, I pull the manager aside and tell them I could be there every day that the person consistently missing work isn't there. I've been hired on the spot twice using that.

When there are 10s of applicants applying for 1 job? be a pro mother fucker and demand for the interview
what is wrong with you
You dont even know the situation. He once threatened my mate with a screw driver so he deserves it.

I followed this guide and I am now a millionaire.

oh thanks for the insight i will keep that in mind when trying to be very professional.
ur dumb
Tip just be yourself
big smile dress smart sound enthusiastic
make sure you mark "Caucasian" as your ethnicity
if you mark anything else they throw it in the garbage bin
Actually you just dress nicely, go in and talk to the manager for an application, bring it back to HIM the next day (or whenever he asks), still sharply dressed, get interviewed, hired the day after you asked for an application. That's what happened to me anyways, first job I've ever gotten, first one I've ever applied for.
You don't get jobs by being pranked. That's absurd.
suck the managers dick, works everytime
There's plenty of people that pull this kind of thing off. Minus the prank calling.
It baffles me so many people dumbed OP.
Making the boss/store owner realize they need you is pretty much a standard tactic when getting a job, albeit in different ways!
If woman:
Flash tits, get job.
If man:
Live on benefits for the rest of your life. You've got no hope.
I was recently told a story about a friend of a friend who applied for a job at a supermarket. The application form had a question seemingly about sexual preference and it had three choices: Heterosexual, Homosexual, Bisexual and Other. She didn't know what heterosexual meant so she asked a friend, that friend then told her that it was someone who had sex with animals, and she believed him. So she ticked Other and put "straight" next to it.
I really doubt she got the job.
Asking for sexual preference on an application form is a dick move... I guess the employer is the law though.

Worst advice in any situation.. I really wish people would stop giving this advice.
Nice tip OP and thank you

It's usually quite a sound piece of advice, unless you're an idiot. If you're an idiot, don't be yourself.

In different situations, in groups of different people, social gatherings, different aspects of yourself show. . If you were a lazy, uncaring person , why would you ever want to "be yourself" in a job interview?
If you're trying to have sex with a woman and you're naturally somewhat introverted and insecure, would you "be yourself" and hope you get laid? Fuck no. "Just be yourself" is the most misunderstood piece of advice that has ever been used when trying to help a person out.
Your personality is interchangeable and something you can develop. If you don't take time to develop your personality and you just "be yourself" chances are, "being yourself" will only work your way in certain situations.
People adapt and change. To think that it's idiotic to re-frame yourself to accomplish something is absurd.
Friend : Just be yourself man, she'll love it.
YOU : Yeah you're right, girls love guys who are loving, caring and smart like me right?
Friend : Definitely, you got it man.
NEXT DAY
You : (In a high pitched, speedy, nervous voice) Hey, you're really beautiful
Girl : Awwwww, thanks .
You : Yeah.. I've always thought that . Every time I see you..
Girl : Awwww, you're so sweet, thanks. (Flips open phone to avoid your creepiness)
5 Minutes later after you've given her the utmost attention and oblivious self.
Girl : (totally uninterested in your stupid comments she hears everyday ) K. I've gotta go.. see ya!
YOU: (Smiling like a goof and once again in a speedy high pitched voice ) Okay!! Great to finally meet you.
Girl : (No response, walks away)
Later that day
YOU : Dude, I was myself, I told her she was beautiful and she totally dug it.
Friend : Hell yeah man, did you get her number?
YOU : No, I was too nervous and I didn't think it was the right time anyways. She was busy anyways.
Friend : Oh.

I don't know about the UK, but in America its illegal for a job interviewer to ask about sexual preference.
How to get a job 100% success rate: know somebody.

I'm all for adaptation and personal growth, but "re-framing" yourself for a specific situation will inadvertently lead to problems. It's an especially bad idea in relationships, but still not advisable in trying to find a job.
Worst advice in any situation.. I really wish people would stop giving this advice.
you should always try to be yourself but avoid saying too much about yourself.
edit; unless you find a common interest with the person interviewing you, then by all means try digging on that topic for a few seconds.
