I've recently dug out an old laptop from the basement. There are a lot of good memories stored on there that I don't want to lose.
However, I put a password on there and it's been so long I can not remember it at all.
The password hint is simply 'alocalbox'
which I think has something to do with computers themselves
So I'm hoping one of you fellows might be able to help me figure out the password.
This is really important to me. I will notify whoever gets the correct password view PM on facepunch for their steam name and I will gift them any $10 game of their choice on steam.
Can't you get out a USB and linux into that bitch or something?

Get a cracker.
If you really want those 'memories', last resort could be to take the HDD out and attach it to a computer via SATA/IDE to USB cable.
Im trying a cracker right now.

Tastes delicious

However if someone manages to guess it before I crack it anyway, the steam game is still up for offer

This guy right here,
or maybe it's your local Jack in the Boxes phone number.
theorangebox or orangebox
use OPHCrack.
I used to use it to retrieve passwords on old computers within my workspace in which the students graduated and never passed the codes down.
And it's not warez
How old is the password and laptop itself?
also have you tried "alocalbox"?

Haha, I accidentally said it was warez, meant to say it's not warez.
You can seriously use it. It's a lightweight custom linux based client that you can boot from.

Woops, you already solved it.
