Ok so basically my parents want my christmas list, and why i really want is this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115057&cm_re=Socket_775_processor-_-19-115-057-_-Product I want it so i Can play high requirement games like Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. It mostly for Supreme Commander: forged alliance actually. Any suggestions? This one good? bad? I want to be able to have was with like 6 enemies at once and not have it slow down due to so many units. I know i need RAM for that too but i have that covered. Graphics card is covered too.
Well I have a Intel core i5 750 and SupCom: Fa runs like a charm on it but there is that tiny little thing that annoys all SupCom: Fa players worldwide and that is the so called "Slow down" bug. Which means that the game slows itself down in order to preserve playable FPS. A program called "Core Maximizer" fixes that a little but its nowhere near perfect. As far as your CPU goes, can we get your complete system specs. We need to be sure that there will be no bottlenecks.
What's the rest of your specs? Like mobo model, current processor, etc.
A processor doesn't really make games run that much faster, unless it's something like going from a Pentium to an i5. And you can get better for less than $200. Specifically: -Intel Core i5-750 ($199) -AMD Phenom II x4 955 ($150) -AMD Phenom II x4 925 (Cheaper than your one and does better) Post the rest of your specs. Especially your GPU even though you think you have it covered.

I believe OP has a socket 775 mobo, but he has to post the mobo model number in order to confirm it.
I've got a Q8200 and it overclocks beautifully. I actually received it as a Christmas gift last year as well (although the prices haven't seemed to drop on 775 CPUs. My Q8200 was $150-160). People will give you shit for investing in an LGA 775 build but the price of a new mobo (and most likely ram because you're probably running DDR2, no?) will put you way over your budget. There's nothing wrong with them and even at stock clock the Q8400 will do everything you're asking for.
Oh my god I shit my pants. OP, what socket do you have? 1156?

RTSes usually require a stronger processor. Also, specs would be amazing.
