Hopefully some new weapons, but that probably won't happen.

As cool as new weapons are, too many of them are just not interesting.
New MvM map, oh, and no fucking surprise, most of the update focus is on cosmetic rewards. Fuck the direction Valve is going, TF2's cosmetics were bad enough, and now weapons and player models have particle effects?

Everyone praises Valve like it is some benevolent all-father to video games and while Steam is a good service, one cannot deny the way their company is going is definitely downhill. TF2 is a prime example of their practices. It is the result of having basically no structure in their company. Yeah, it's great that you let your devs do what they want, but sadly what they want is to go to work, makes loads of money doing a half assed job making some cosmetic models for an aging FPS, and go home with that easy money. It's natural: humans take the easy way if it is available with few repercussions.
Valve could do so much more if they actually started telling their employees what to do. A company without structure, regulation, or assignments just cannot work well.
I know I will get hate up the ass because I am talking shit about Valve on one of their most loyal forums, and will probably get lots of "you just don't understand how they work" bullshit replies but at the end of the day I am fed up with Valve, or at least some of their employees. Their are still progressive people working there making good games and putting in effort, but there are also some that I just suspect are slacking. And yes, I know making models and maps takes a long time but pretty much every other dev out there is actually making, you know, games. Not DLC or items or some shit for games, but actual, full-length, games. They need to stop beating the dead horse and focus on something else for a change, and if they want to update TF2 it needs to have more effort then some useless cosmetics and weapons.

Nah, even FP is realizing that Valve isn't really the perfect company. A couple of years back, your post would've made the thread shoot up to #1 in the popular threads due to the gigantic shitstorm it'd have started, but now I'd say most people here think the same, because, honestly, the decline in quality is just obvious. Like it or not, it's all because of TF2 cosmetics. Well, not ONLY that, but it's what started the trend. While getting the community to participate so actively isn't a bad thing in itself, it very easily becomes one when it gets to the point where the community is making most of the stuff that's being released.
Do I know exactly what's going on in the Valve offices? Do I know if they really aren't working on much? No, but that's the image they're giving, and boy I sure hope they do something to change it.

Did you actually READ the update? Damn. I've played MvM now and Soldier/Medic gameplay is definitely different with the new additions. If all you're seeing is Valve gloating about cosmetic shit, it's because thats all you WANT to see so you can have something to gripe about.
