AMD Athlon LE 64 1640 (New with box) and a MCP61PM-HM Motherboard (Ordered from HP) Customer brought these in and wants them built into a computer Problem is When i put it together nothing happens My first instinct is the cpu isn't for the board. If this is correct someone please say so so I can tell them to change it out.
supports the following processors:

athlon 64 x2 with dual core technology up to 5600+ (up to 89 watt)
athlon 64 less than 4000+
sempron less than 4000+

Not sure if this is helpful cause that CPU is a "LE-1640" so I dunno if that 1640 is "less" than 4000+.
The LE 1640 is the low energy version of the Athlon 64 4000+
The LE 1640 is the low energy version of the Athlon 64 4000+
Yeah i read that and i would think it should work, but still no POST on it.... The cpu fan runs constantly and the power button has no effect....
Have you plugged the power switch in?
yes everything was plugged in according to the documentation that came with the MB (pwr sw, reset, leds, etc)

mobo could just be dead
