A website design I whipped up in Photoshop and abandoned :(

Looks pretty good there. Haven't seen anything like it. :buddy:
It's so clean. So simple. Awesome.
A better 'transition' between the stripped background and the foreground would have made this very good (I still like it, even though her boss didn't).
I could understand them going for the safe, traditional style though (Tis a shame :v:)
I like it very much. I'm going to download the psd, so I can steal this for when I need a design. c:
It's very pretty
Thanks, gonna download this so I can come faster than FedEx tonight; this thing is HAWT.
I love it, why would you abandon this?

As I said - I don't know HTML or Java or Flash or practically anything that can get this working.
I'll gladly turn this design into markup

If you can give me the background images and such

Whoops, saw the PSD.
Your design looks much better.
Why is the home torn off from the rest of the menu?

It's meant to be selected. When you click Contacts for example, it gets torn off and so on.
As much as I hate to say it—and really don't take this personally—I like the one they went with a lot better.
Compare what your homepage conveys vs. the actual homepage: from yours I can gather that they are a Bulgarian building contractor and, well that's about it. On the other hand from the page they went with I can get a real feel for the company, a brief history, a list of clients, recent(-ish) news and some great overview pictures of their work.
Another thing the chosen site has over yours is subtlety, the background is muted and simple, text is clear and laid out in a well-defined grid, they make use of a highly legible body font with a more striking font for headings and so on. In yours however, there's little to no information on the main page, the one heading font is used everywhere on the site, even where it impedes legibility and on my monitor at least has a gigantic header image that tells me practically nothing about the site.
Once again, don't take this too personally, it's still a good design. Just take the criticism and try to improve future designs. Remember, in designing a company's website information architecture is as important as the visual design. Web design is primarily about conveying a message efficiently and effectively and I just feel your site does neither of those.

Thank you for your criticism. Pretty much all of that is true except that all of that information could've been put in the About us section, which is why it exists. I don't really know though - I always imagined the homepage is there to give you sense at what's to come, not to overburden you with information, making the other pages almost obsolete.
And, the font is just the homepage one, more detailed information would (obviously) be in another less straining to read font. But the whole thing is unfinished, so I really had no reason to do all that.
There are also a couple of things that bug me too, like:

Abundant information.

This hideous color.

And that.

Well that's a relief, I kinda sat there looking at the post reply button for a bit thinking "does this make me sound like a jerk". Glad you saw it as constructive criticism as intended.
Also I agree the final design is still far from perfect, the redundancy you highlighted and their tendency to pick excessively saturated photos are just the start. Although I think over saturating photos is pretty much the norm for architectural photos as much as it annoys me.

Why wouldn't I? For one, I am trying to improve - not taking criticism wouldn't help.
Trouble is, this is the final design.
I think the second one is your strongest design, because the contrast with the background, photo, and buttons fit really well together.
