Alright guys. Here's my shitty review and post game report of the events at operation blacksheep. Video footage generously filmed and edited by My Squad Leader: Kevin Golden
Action Sumarized
First, we were trucked in to our CP in which we moved out to take the Hill(Or overlook position referenced in video at 1700ft. elevation). To begin with it was reinforced by the OpFor with different rules of disengagement than the regular players(never actually disclosed to us but that's what we were told)It was also the only point available at the start of the game. Our CO's plan was to wait a few minutes and sweep up the remaining alpha and OpFor resistance. WHICH went entirely wrong, because alpha didn't hear the starting horn and moved out around the same time as us(15 or so minutes) The hike up the hill was entirely brutal almost 30 degrees of upwards elevation at times. The ensuing engagement would last about 3 or so hours with on and off engagements till around 8'o clock in which we held the hill till 10 o'clock which we relieved by a squad which was lost in the woods for about 2 hours, ha ha. We ended up moving up that hill 4 times.(RIP, 2 of the times during the night) from 2AM to about 6AM holding the hill we had to spoon the firepit for warmth, being around 40 degrees and we were drenched in sweat. From 7AM to the end of the game at 11 we engaged in a firefight at the overlook with two of the remaining Alpha squads. Which was their QRF(large sqaud with 3 medics) and a regular squad which managed to beat us back twice but upon receiving back up from the Wolverines squad we managed to push them past the cabin. And almost immediately afterwords nearing 10:30AM the remaining Bravo Squads attacked from all angles on the hill quickly mopping up the resistance. Bravo won by a thousand point spread, which is sad because 4 alpha squads left during the night. They payed 150$ just to leave half way through the game. bunch of child diddlers...
Good and Bad things about the event
Good -Action was drawn out. -Lots of places to move -good exercise -big AO bad -big AO -the cold -radios weren't working 100% due to the repeater not doing so well -the hill
Pictures
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/opbs%40cove/2012-09-22%2016.22.13.jpg[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/opbs%40cove/2012-09-22%2020.58.38.jpg[/t]
MY XM177E2
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/opbs%40cove/2012-10-06%2014.30.37.jpg[/t] It's a G&P so the performance was good to begin with. Purchase price is 325$ The only problem I encountered was a lack of range compared to other guns I've owned. The build is pretty sturdy, only the grenade launcher is pretty wobbly. Which is fixed by putting a grenade in. The Deans connector it came with was too small and didn't make contact with the liPo Deans connectors. So I replaced them, not that hard but still. Overall if you want to get a good nam' era gun. Go for it. It's externals are pretty fantastic(real anodized metal body and true to life trades) and the internals are easily upgraded. Diffidently a gun I will hesitate before selling.
ANY QUESTIONS? Just ask me!
What's the amount of players and how many people do you say respect the honor code on the east coast?
Looks almost as fun as BS@Pine Plains
These reciever seals look pretty dumb, but I guess they're there for a reason...
What's the amount of players and how many people do you say respect the honor code on the east coast?
It was about 300 players. I didn't hear about cheating so. I might check the AAR at the forums.
Looks almost as fun as BS@Pine Plains
If you like 7 hours with out contact really.
These reciever seals look pretty dumb, but I guess they're there for a reason...
The E-tape is because we were expecting Rain. The big red sticker is the chrono tag so they can tell if you opened your gun or not [editline]7th October 2012[/editline] Also my sl didn't even get the best footage sooooo I don't know if the two long fire fights were to make up for freezing my ass off.
if you have to d gun maintenance, do you have to re-chrono?
They said you had to notify them. So they knew who you were. But there was only one surprise chrono check so eh.
