• Opinions on New Wheels

Hey, as the title says I am looking for some opinions on which wheels I should get for my 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit silver colored. I can't decide between a couple of choices, and want the AA pros to help me decide! Option 1: [t]http://puu.sh/1RgQT[/t] Option 2: [t]http://puu.sh/1RgRg[/t] Option 3: [t]http://puu.sh/1RgRF[/t] Or suggest me some that you feel would look good on my car.
personally i'd get none of those, but if it had to be one of those then B.
Oh god yuck
If you really want to pick one of those wheels, for a Rabbit, I'd go with choice 3. But I honestly wouldn't buy any of them.
Hmm okay, I was leaning towards option 2 myself, but what would you guys suggest then? Im open to anything really, send me some links.
you should post a picture of your car here
Okay, heres a pic of it the night I got it. Still looks the same except filthy filthy filthy from all the dirty snow and stuff on the roads now. I wish it was in black, silver isnt my favorite.
what's your spending limit?
I don't really wanna spend more than 800$ on the wheels, not including tires.
none of 'em please PLEASE
VW's Huh? Many of the GTI's I know run TSW wheels, the mesh ones look really nice on them.
Option C looks the most like VW GTI wheels. If you were going to get any of those wheels, I'd go for C. If you do buy new wheels, I'd recommend that you spray the unpainted plastic bits on the doors and bumpers. It'd mesh much better that way; makes the car look like it's worth more.
imo I'm not 100% in with the "euro" fad, my neighbor has a mk6 gti and I help him him find stuff when he needs it. Are you planning to lower it? I found a few candidates but rims are a personal taste 1. http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-cooper/mini-cooper-team-dynamics-pro-race.html 2. VMR 701's 3. Or you can even go MK6 GTI rims, it doesn't look half bad. Like I said, wheels are all a matter of personal taste, and lowering your car will really set off the rims. Look around on community forums meant for the rabbit/mk5golf/gti. Here's a good starting point: http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=6

They have always bugged me sticking out like that, didn't know you could just paint them. How hard is it to lower and how much does lowering cost? It would probably look a lot nicer lowered. Out of those three you showed me, I like the bottom ones the best, even more so than the third option I have in the OP. I'll give that link a look too.
Depends on if you want a good ride, you can spend $300 and ride like shit, or you can spend $500+ and have a semi decent ride.
Alright, that will probably have to come afterwards then. Also, is there any chance you can link me to somewhere selling the wheels in the third picture you have there?
Alright, that will probably have to come afterwards then. Also, is there any chance you can link me to somewhere selling the wheels in the third picture you have there?
Just look for mk6 oem wheels, or just buy replicas of them.
Fuck what those guys say, I got your rims right here: Guaranteed to add at least 50lbs of unsprung weight.
Should I paint them the same color as the car? They have always bugged me sticking out like that, didn't know you could just paint them.
You can paint them pretty easily. There's a ton of tutorials on the internet. http://www.squidoo.com/prepandpaint On my Contour, I painted the plastic sides of the windshield to be body color (these things on the left and right side of windshield); took probably a total of 30 minutes of work (minus paint drying ofc). I didn't do much prepping - just cleaned them, lightly sanded them, taped newspaper around them, sprayed on a coat of primer, one or two coats of paint, then a coat of clear coat paint. [editline]22nd January 2013[/editline] The match won't be perfect, obviously, but you have a silver car, and likely don't live where it's either pouring or sunny 24/7, so the paint should match up better than it did on old, bright red car:
I never noticed the Mondeo was like that... And my mom drove one for the longest time when I was a wee lad. That's weird looking.
Id go for maybe the 3rd option. They sort of resemble the GTI rims.
#2 would be my personal choice, but it really needs to be a GTI with some other red accents on the car. The other two wheels are just fugly.
I prefer the lightest round ones. From a distance black rims look like cheap steelies. Try to find detail in a black rim with a black background. [editline]23rd January 2013[/editline] 15lbs rfp1 950 for 4 on tirerack for 17s Or 18 lbs for 17s 570 for 4. Andros spec d Or 20lbs for 17 at 488 for 4 sport edition se-16 What rim size? Stick to silver, machined or gun metal.

Spoke-like wheels on a Volkswagen is fitting imo. Sets off the Euro steeze: Only real time BBS wheels are applicable imo.
Those last rims are way to 'messy' for a car with a modern design like that.
I have came back with a more refined list. And budget friendly too! [t]http://c1552172.r72.cf0.rackcdn.com/194466_x600.jpg[/t] http://ecstuning.com/ES2226016/ (1k for a set of 4) You could probably find a replica Intilian company ^ for around 400$ Of course you can replace the hub centers with a 56mm VW center cap anyday :v: Just giving out suggestion better than gay OZ's that go on every single ricer car.
Try looking for some of the wheels that came with the car as an option.
[t]http://c1552172.r72.cf0.rackcdn.com/194466_x600.jpg[/t]
Out of all options, these by a long shot. BBS style looking rims look great on VDubs and sets off the Euro style nicely.
