• I Have the Opportunity to "Study Abroad."

Apparently not to long ago a letter came in the mail (we somehow left it somewhere in the house and forgot about it), and I just got around to reading it today. The letter was from the People to People Student Ambassador programs. The whole "Student Ambassador," program thing made me think it was fishy, but after research it seems that this organization is legit. I have been invited to travel and study in Ireland, Wales, England, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Now that sounds pretty damn cool, and if there weren't that, "problem," I'd probably go on it. But that problem is that the trip basically costs about $5,000 - $9,000 per trip. So yeah, I could just fly my own ass to those places if I wanted to, if I could afford them. Another thing, I read that most the kids on those trips are the stuffy uppity kinda kids, which I just can't stand. So yeah, has anyone else ever been on these kind of trips or programs? Are they worth it?
I'd like to study a broad. :q:
Looks good on a transcript. Take every opportunity now to improve your life in the long run.
Is she naked?
If you can afford to go, I'd reccomend it. I've never left the UK like, but if someone offered me to go to France or whatever I'd take it. :)

Why would you pay $5000 for that shit?
Why would you pay $5000 for that shit?
I've only left my state once, and have never left America.
No, but if you're going to do it, i recommend Netherlands. Its a nice country.

Theres a lot of blogs about exchange students and such.
Shit, that is really nice. :derp:
Yes. I've been there, and i liked it. I want back.
I went to England to study abroad for a year. It was a huge failure, mainly because of the program I went with - EF, showed itself as a trusting and good company... Right until I landed in England and arrived at my host family. The organization was, ironically, very disorganized and I left home feeling relieved I was back. However, with that said it still had some pluses. If you're in for the cultural and social experience its an amazing opportunity... Plus its very nice to have when you go for a job interview.
I've heard about this program and gotten letters from them. I'd suggest going for a good year-long program to get the best experience. [editline]06:30PM[/editline] This is really guided, so expect to be shepherded around wherever you go. I know people who have done this.
Do it if y'wanna, Postal did something similar and enjoyed it
I'd like to study a broad. :q:
I knew this was going to be the second or third post

Find out which part of the Netherlands you can go to, and I'll tell you whether you should do it or not. Either way, go for it!

Is it written by the prince of nigeria?

Anyway - I you can wangle the funds, absolutely go for it, you'll have a great time. Hell, you might even get some culture into you :)
Is it written by the prince of nigeria?
Way to read the OP. The People to People program is actually a legit program. Some people pass these things off as scams because of their insane price. Which this is an insane price.
I remember my sister got this. Pretty much most people get this opportunity, but don't take it.
I remember my sister got this. Pretty much most people get this opportunity, but don't take it.
Yeah, it seems to be a pretty big program.
Yeah, this program only offers a summer long program, but I'd rather not do a year long program cause I'd rather be at home and going to my high school during the school year.
If you want to do a summer-long program, look at your local Lions Club. They hand out scholarships like mad, and you can go anywhere that they have a branch, so pretty much all over the world.
People To People is an excellent organization. I am a student Ambassador and they sent me on an amazing 2 week trip to Hawaii to learn about the culture and as I live in upstate NY on a farm it was a once in a lifetime chance. My entire community raised the 7,000 dollars so I could go. It was awsome I highly recomend you go on one of these trips.
Come to Ireland!
Fuck that shit. Go to South Africa! (Whoop Whoop!)
I second Netherlands.
Sounds like it would be a fun experience :)
Ireland, Wales, England, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
No Scotland? :C
