Hey guys, I was just playing and recording a game on ZSNES when all of a sudden I got a BSOD after a battle ended in the game. After my computer attempted to restart, it got the same BSOD again. I went into safe mode and uninstalled the software I was using, BSOD again. Said software also came with some stupid AVG toolbar thing (while giving me no choice of whether I wanted to install it or not) which I just uninstalled after I went back into safemode.
Can anyone possibly tell me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it? This computer is kind of old (got it back at the end of 2007 or so.) But I've generally had no real problems with it in the time I've had it. Could it be faulty drivers? I'm on an nVidia card and the last time I updated my drivers was 7/21/2012 and the reason for that being that a driver update that came out was messing with some of my games and made them unplayable so I rolled back to a previous version and stayed on it until maybe they fixed it (and apparently driver updates just made the problems worse.) Should I update my drivers to see if what will fix my issue?
Boot into safe mode and download/reinstall the latest nvidia drivers from here.

I've always had the latest nvidia drivers and never had any issues with any of them. I personally wouldn't concern myself with talk online about faulty driver releases.
Update!
Went into safemode and uninstalled my old drivers and restarted my computer. Booted up normally after that with no issues! Installed the newest drivers and restarted and it BSODs again. So the issue seems to be with any kind of nVidia drivers. The generic VGA drivers work fine, but it basically means I can't really play any PC games. Which is fine...but when I boot up my PC without any drivers installed but the generic VGA ones, my PC immediately starts installing new drivers again and forces me to restart.

Update again!
I read somewhere to unplug the computer from the outlet and that seems to have fixed the issue...Can anyone come up with an explanation as to why that works and why this happened? I'd like to know just in case this kind of thing happens again and I can explain to my family why the computer decided to not boot up/prevent this from happening again.

I know this is really late but did you have your driver installed when you unplugged it? I'm sorry to trouble you because of a post this long ago but my computer is having this problem as well.
