Looking for a 256 mb, but if there is a good deal with a 512 post it. I've been checking ebay, newegg, and tiger direct for a bit and found a bunch of cards, but if some one with a bit more experiance can guide me with this that will be great.
I plan on using it for light gaming.
This card will just be a temporary replacement for my old broken one for 2-3 months tell I build my computer so thats why I don't want to go balls out on a graphics card now.
I'm looking for a PCIE card and my powersupply is 300W.
Oh and geforce if you will.
Best card for that price:

Serious answer: It's about $61 but looks awesome.

Most people get 40-90ish FPS on MW2 with it.
You can't get any decend card for that price range, it's simply unreal. If you go on eBay, you can get a new graphics card along the range of nVidia Geforce 6200 GT and ATI Radeon 9200 for slightly under $50

That is an extremely rude response... It isn't fanboyism and if he wants to support a company or brand that he likes then he should be allowed to... It is a free market for a reason.
Also, I have seen some GeForce 9 series and 8 series for around that price. That is probably your best bet.

Buying a card from one company when another has a better card for around the same price... that's fanboyism, buddy.

I'm here to help people make the most of their money
if they prevent me from doing this because they'd rather have a green sticker and go to a green site for driver updates instead of red then they can either go sod themselves or they can fuck off and find a fanboy filled site that will cater to their every insignificant need

Just cause you like red reap, I declare you a fanboy of red! I state this cause your avatar is a red pacman ghost :3 logic aye? (I really hope you don't take this seriously :ohdear:
But honsetly, newegg had a deal on 9400's for about 30-50$. If you want a decent card then go up to 100$, at least with that you can get a (Ati)4670, 4850, (nvid)9800, ect.
Thanks for the help. I found some sick deals for some nice cards, then I remembered I don't have a pcie 2.0 motherboard.
no card maxes even PCI-E 1.0, 2.0 doesn't matter yet
Get a 4650.

Not possible with his current PSU
System Requirements 400 Watt or greater power supply (550 Watt for ATI CrossFireX technology in dual mode) is recommended

Not possible with his current PSU
Yes it is, the power recommendations are overestimated.
Yeah but it's pretty safe to assume he has some shitty PSU from a prebuilt dell, Gateway, etc.

if you can run a 5870 on 400W I'm pretty fucking sure you don't need 400W for a 4650

Yes, but I would pay $5 more for the HIS cooling.

5xxx series are incredibly powerfriendly
5xxx series are incredibly powerfriendly
and? a 4650 would use even less power, that's my entire point
I'd recommend the 4650 too.
3850 perhaps?
4650.
4650. Superior by it's performance and options against any opposition that nVidia can throw at it at the moment. And that's a fact.
In my experience, the 9600 GSO performs really well for a low end card too.
probably anything by nvidia, you cant do physx on ati so theres really no reason to go for an ati imo
nvidia do really cheap ones
