Highly recommended to people enjoying ambiance.
Aiming to do to Germany what 20%THEBEACHBOYS20% did for California, Autobahn's title track runs at 22:40 seconds long, simulating the experience of driving though the autobahn using synthesizers and kling klang

Radio-Aktivität:

Obsessed by radio activity and radio itself, Kraftwerk becomes more experimental and explores the musicality of radiation and kling klang

Recommended for the pure humans.
The TEE is a railroad that goes across Europe. Kraftwerk, with their interest in monotony, finds the soothing yet alarming sounds of railroads perfect, and builds an album that will get on your nerves with every second of its sharp, evil genius.

Die Mensch-Maschine:

For the human machine in all of us.
The collectivist nature of robots is explored, and all of the things that turns us into machines instead of humans is portrayed using sounds, incredible melodies, horrific uncomfortableness and klingclang

The book of Kraftwerk.
A concept album in every way, this album only lasts about 30 minutes, but the most interesting songs reside on this album. Using Bee-Gee rhythm machines, English butchering pocket calculators, and a hint of genius, Kraftwerk makes their number one klingklang

Kraftwerk without experimentation nor adventure. Only memorable hooks.
Proof that Kraftwerk are not human. This album contains an organic sound, mixed with fidelity unmatched by any Kraftwerk album.

I can honestly say no other group has inspired me as much as kraftwerk has, and i can honestly say no other group feels as close to my heart as kraftwerk does. modern music, especially electronic music, owes a giant debt to these guys but they so obviously have still stood the test of time. their music to me is timeless.
Ja
Das hokey cokey
I like Radio-Aktivität the most.
I've listened to Kraftwerk for many years :buddy:
Amazing group, truly legendary.
Kraftwerk are truly brilliant. It's a real shame that Ralf's the only one left now. :smith:
The Man-Machine and Radioactivity are wonderful.
Daft Punk was born from this
Daft Punk was born from this
Pretty much every electronic group owes their hat to Kraftwerk.
Buuuut we gotta discuss that 'greatest electronic group'.
yeah sorry about that the greatest electronic group is obviously duran duran
yeah sorry about that the greatest electronic group is obviously duran duran
I know you were being sarcastic but Duran Duran are really cool.
[editline]14th March 2011[/editline]
at least, their older stuff.
I used to love this group when electronic music was my thing, listening to them today, it doesn't give me that euphoric feeling anymore, but I feel really nostalgic listening to this.
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
There music and there videos used to scare the shit out of me, and still do to a degre.
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
Give this a listen.

A very early performance done by Kraftwerk, they had a COMPLETLY different approach to music.
BRAND NEW kraftwerk song:

I feel in love with Kraftwerk as soon as I heard them. My teacher got me into them, he's a great industrial pop fan.
Bump with content

Anyone got this album? There's a few tribute albums out for this group, but this is really the only one that seems any good.
They took a bunch of unknown electronic bands, and had them all interpret Kraftwerk songs. NONE of them are just palette swaps.
One highlight would be:
Musique Non Stop, interpreted by Jun Jun Clinic
Miraculously, almost, they turned Musique Non Stop into an almost jazzy song. You have to give it a listen.
Complete song list:

Radioactivity

Computer Love

Endless Europe

The Model

Music Nonstop

Showroom Dummies

Pocket Calculator (bassland mix)

Metal On Metal

Antenna

Tour De France

The Robots

Trans Europe Express
Here's some others:
Europe Endless, interpreted by Mare Nigrum

The Man Machine, interpreted by Shockwerks
Holy shit. These guys have been playing since the 70's? I applaud these guys
[editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
Daft Punk owes their hats to Frankie Knuckles, Godfather of House music
I only have Autobahn, but my god its a good listen
I am very confused by OP who and what is kraftwerk? Other than there an electronic band, but I don't really know anything about this kind of music.

i'm sorry
Also, anyone got this album?

Expo Remix. They took a single release by Kraftwerk, that's not on any other real album, called Expo 2000, and had a bunch of DJs remix it, as well as including not one, but three Kling Klang (official Kraftwerk) versions of the song. Really excellent.
The song "Expo 2000" was worked into the Minimum-Maximum live album, as "Planet of Visions". It was, however, sped up significantly.
Highlights:
Expo 2000 original Kraftwerk mix

Expo 2000 (Orbital mix)
Very poppy and happy and fast-paced, recommended if that's what you're looking for
Expo 2000 (UR Thought 3 Mix)
One of a few versions remixed by Detroit's Underground Resistance (UR) group, this is the final track on the album, and I believe, one of the best. It's actually quite somber.

Is anyone actually listening to these things I'm posting or no?
Why don't I have any Kraftwerk on LP?
:argh:
Das Model is the best song from them
Das Model is the best song from them
If you like that, Cracking the Code, which I posted above, has an excellent remix by Ambidextrous. It's made into a less artificial-sounding song, which is actually very beautiful, but retains the essence of the original.
Now if you want utter shit, the remake of Showroom Dummies on that album is just incredibly awful, jesus christ why did they ever make it?

Sounds like someone is fapping in the beginning.
Still, good song.
yes, that is the sound of a Geiger Counter masturbating
the song Radio-Activity is the extensive orgasm
the song Radioland is the refractory period
The Mix has all my favourite versions of the songs
I dunno, The Mix improved in some ways, but feels a bit bastardised at times.
I will say, though, that The Mix was one of the first Kraftwerk albums I had. I discovered them through my dad's Radio-Activity CD, and he also had The Mix. Then, when he discovered I liked the band, he bought me Trans-Europe Express and The Man-Machine. By the time I was ten, I think, I had nearly all Kraftwerk CDs.
Bump with Der Katalog.

It came in today, woo! I was so sure it'd come in after I'd left for Connecticut.
Eight albums, all in full German. A book of artwork for EACH album.
I actually went to http://www.amazon.de, the German site, and used Google Chrome's translation feature to import it from there, so it'd be in German.
Last Christmas my brother got me The Man Machine on 12".
Who says siblings can't still have glimpses of awesomeness on occasion?
