I have a Thompson ST516v6 router. For months ive been able to access my default gateway page to open ports and WEP secure it. Suddenly it stopped working. When i go to my default gateway it says timed out. I did IP config but it gives me some gateway i never heard of. I tried resting the router. I tried pinging both of the gateways and still nothing. I scanned my pc for router erros via windows 7 network center and it said there was something wrong with the default gateway. Also the day before i got a virus. i removed it within 3 hours. It might have been that. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Does it work via other Computers? [editline]11:54PM[/editline] Also wrong forum. Tech support is up there.
click on network connections and see where you are connecting too, and try dialing into the odd gateway
Okay. It is a LAN modem that connects to my phone service. and i tried the odd gateway. it does not respond.
Try setting your computer to a static ip and gateway then ping your router.
WEP can be cracked pretty easily if you have enough packets captured. Someone could have cracked your router and locked you out. Have you tried resetting it?

(Unless the guy who cracked it changed the IP space but left DHCP on, but that's pretty moronic) @OP: So you have internet through this strange gateway? Try going to the old gateway address when it worked. If you got a virus it may have done a man in the middle thing. (Though I'm not entirely sure how that would work from a purely software perspective.)
