When it comes to the core playerbase you're probably in the minority.
Planetside 2 was advertised as having weather effects that would actually matter, so stuff like snowstorms, fog, and most importantly, a day/night cycle where night actually got dark. [I]Really[/I] dark. To see the enemy you needed a flashlight, a night vision sight, or gunfire to light things.
The amount of hatred towards it on the forums was unreal and night was drastically brightened before beta was over. When it comes to shooter fanbases (and any fanbase that considers itself 'competitive,' really) any sort of map-variation that frustrates normal play is considered unacceptable.
Hmm, and here I thought foggy was just rain without the rain.
