I want to buy this because I loved The Witcher 2 and literally everyone tells me it's amazing but I have a mountain of singleplayer RPG's I never finished. Trying to decide if I want to enjoy this now or wait for it to go even cheaper after I finish all the shit I bought over the past two years.

The game was fantastic, the first DLC was great, and the next one is supposed to be sometime in the first half of 2016.
Literally like 30 seconds ago, I finally finished the game. now im going for newgame+ with a new build. well worth the 60€ price tag at release.

Get through the mountain then but this. I'm stuck in the same situation.

You'll probably be able to grab it during the next Summer sale for about the same price now but bundled with the two expansion packs, one of which doesn't come out until early next year.
Just wait for the Enhanced edition.
CDPR said in the past that they had no plans for an EE.
How essential is Witcher 1 and 2 for 3? I got them all in a bundle a while ago but Witcher 1 feels very dated and clunky in terms of control (the graphics have really aged well though) and I'm considering skipping it and going straight to Wild Hunt. Am I going to be totally lost going in?
Witcher 1 and 2 aren't needed, but you'll understand a lot more of what's going on and who people are.
Don't think they are going to do that
:( Well, if not that, then probably a GOTY edition that includes all the expansions and stuff.

It also have some really good background on characters and events that you'll interact with in wild hunt. It's not that long of a game either and you can import your save from two to three and it'll change some things in the game for you depending on your actions in the witcher 2.
Followup: I pulled the trigger on Witcher 3 because I remembered how much I enjoyed Witcher 2. I think I liked the game because the sun was going down when I started playing it and when I stopped the sun was coming up :v:
