I remember I covered a CP with nothing but babies. Many nightmares were had.
As long as it has some sort of limit or LOD or anything to prevent people adding heaps of high-poly models to their character, I think this would be an awesome addition to Gmod. It's extremely unique and beats the shit outa TF2 hats.

It lacks help stuff which I have always wanted to add. (tooltips or anything to guide a beginner)

Also it's kind of "expensive". I've done as much optimizing I could but people with lots of parts can drop fps down a lot.
Make it work, tiny computer people.
Have a limit of say 20000-30000 vertices per player. It can't be too hard to count how many vertices are on a model, then make them add up in a bar at the side of the screen, showing how many your current customisation has and what the server's maximum is. Then if you want to load a customisation on a server but you're over the limit, it could give you the option to only partially load it or load another that is within the server's limit.
As for the help part, make a video tutorial to be included in Gmod's default help menu.

If it were to be included in gmod, it would not be any time soon I think.

It's more the calculations from placing the prop relative to a bone that is the problem.
I've done ALL I can but maybe someone has a better idea of optimizing. Of course there could be limits.
