It obviously needs less story and thinking, and more shooting and explosions. Also monsters are stupid it should be set in the middle east fighting evil terrorists to save America.
Why the fuck do you think Capcom? You made a shit game and went into competition with games like Gears of War and Call of Duty, and people are just gonna play one of those instead of your game. Game sold on brand recognition first and foremost, but that's pretty much gone now.
Watch. They'll find from this "analyzing" that the game was simply too scary for people. They need to remove the zombies and other monsters, and replace them with something else. Like terrorists, or bunnies.
Why don't you, you know
Listen to the people that buy your games?
Ok capcom....I'm going to show you whats wrong with Resident Evil 6. Bear with me on this. It could have something to do with....ya know....the fact that the game is the FURTHEST thing from survival horror there is. Seriously....when I was playing the game I was STRUGGLING to use up all my ammo/healing items. I mean....as a game by itself, resident evil 6 isn't too bad. I actually like a lot of the more actiony pieces of the game. Honestly....I don't think I would care much if capcom weren't trying so hard to say "This is resident evil!" No assholes....it is not.
I can't say I really liked RE6, but I can't say I hated it either. Though I can't lie, I really wish the series would go back to actual fucking survival horror.
That and I think their biggest mistake was "mass market appeal" or whatever they fucking call it.
do they report everything they do?
[quote]"We believe that global sales of 5 million units are proof that this is a popular title. However, we believe that the new challenges we tackled at the development stage were unable to sufficiently appeal to users," the statement continued. Capcom did say that Resident Evil 6 was designed to appeal to a "mass-market" audience--which is reflected on the game's focus on action, and not necessarily traditional horror.[/quote]
And this is PRECISELY why you fail.
Expecting 7 million copies to be sold is ludicrous of you, and the game you "especially designed to appeal to users" is the exact opposite. What appealed to the users was the changed gameplay, not the departure from survival horror to action. That was a big mistake, and said gameplay changes are starting to fall short on expectations IMO.
What to do?
Remake the first Resident Evil games with today's graphics and gameplay, make them actual survival horror with no huge strobing light aids on items and all of that pussy shit, and PLEASE make the games look as scary as possible.
The new RE games don't hold a candle to the old ones.
I really wish Capcom would get this.
OH, and please, fuck off with the mutants and super powered characters that can punch bolders twice their size. Give us actual fucking zombies and a little pistol like you used to have instead of the retarded shit you've been pulling nowadays of cramming a rocket launcher among half a dozen more guns into a suitcase and a shitload of healing items carried by Superman.
I liked resi 4,5,6 and revelations. The gunplay is nice in all of them
I just imagine a bunch of scientists in a lab, working an analyzing for days
until one of them finally cracks the code and is like
[I]"The results are in! It stinks!"[/I]

but it's the consumer's fault for everything
don't you listen to the gaming press and the publishers who [del]control them[/del] [del]struggle selling quality products[/del] blame entitlement?
The funny thing is that I think Re6 sold over 5,000,000 copies. Yeah Capcom, that's a huge failure.
It's also not out on Steam, and it won't be for another month and 2 weeks from now. It'd help the sales to try and have every port of the game out when the fucking game's been out forever already.
I'm actually shocked they didn't claim the "bad" sales numbers were due to piracy/people buying it used.
There goes the RE2 remake, what a terrible shame, better go sulk.

Technically dark side chronicles covers the story of RE2

I'm sorry to offtopic but where exactly do people get the impression that that is what's generic when pretty much every really generic game seems to be about Russians?
[editline]8th February 2013[/editline]
Besides that, knowing Capcom they probably think they need more cancellations and day 1 DLCs.
it has come o the point where i now buy (and enjoy) anything that looks like classic survival horror
just last month me and a friend of mine replayed RE2 in an all-night session

Amen brother, remakes of the old games would be sweet, I enjoyed resi 5 but 6 went to far. If they went back to the games roots id buy them in a heart beat, shame all they care about is money now.

I can already see it now... Some middle eastern country complaining that Capcom are racist or anti-semitic or whatever because of killing middle easterners, or an inch of a bathroom tile has the word allah in it.
yeah really big fucking mystery there capcom...
The obvious solution is to finally give me my fucking RE5 dlc CAPCOM LET ME GIVE YOU MONEY.

Please go back to the original story, awesome pre-rendered environments (They were so much more gritty and dark before, and actually made the atmosphere awesome), go back to regular zombies, retarded crazy boss battles, puzzles, mapping that is actually creative and throws you though a loop.
They need to listen to the real fans of the franchise, because clearly they're not appealing to the whole "mainstream" players.

I highly doubt that a classic resident evil would sell anywhere near 5 million copies. The last new title in the series (sans the outbreak titles) was zero in 2002, which sold 1.3 million. Resident evil 4 sold 7.6 million, and resident evil 5 sold 7.9 million. The only titles pre 4 to sell over 5 million were 1 and 2, back in 1996 and 1998. Clearly these new titles are of more interest than the old formulas, despite what you "real fans" might say.

Just because something sells in mass quantities does not mean it is good product.
Why would a company revert a series to provide fan service if not at a profit
