Intel I will never buy from you again, not because I am an amd fan-boy but because you have disappointed me. Intel I trusted you, I trusted that when I bought a product from you I was in good hands. But apparently I was wrong... Very wrong. You see Intel I have bought many things from you, But most recently I bought a core 2 duo processor for about $150 and a motherboard (Made buy specifically for this CPU) and that Intel is where I went wrong. You see I set up all of the parts for my computer in about 3 hours but when I went to push the almighty power button with my sweaty index finger... NOTHING... You may imagine that I was upset. Part II soon BTW true story
:downs:
Part II At first I was not REALLY upset, Just a little annoyed but then after spending another few hours trying to find the problem I realized it was not my fault. No Intel it was YOUR fault, You sent me a broken motherboard. I quickly looked for a solution to my problem online and realized many other people had this problem. So I contacted the wonderful Intel support team. After chatting it up with them for what seemed like hours they told me to go out and buy different RAM because that was the problem. So I asked them what kind of ram they would suggest, They gave me a link and I ordered 2 Gigs of it (Cost me the insane price of $59.99) It arrived quickly which was a good thing, Finally I was going to be able to play some counter strike with my friends on steam. But once again, Not even a post.
You spent $150 on a Core 2 Duo? Ha ha.
Part III At this point I am becoming a bit more frustrated... So I hit up the support line again, After spending about $120 on shitty and a load of dumb tests to make sure it was not my fault they finally told me that they would replace the broken motherboard. I was ecstatic that they would send me a new that worked after all of this trouble but then they told me I would have to ship it to them at my cost even though it was their fault. This made me a little bit more mad but hey at least I will get another one soon and its still going to cost less to ship it to them than it would to buy a new one. So I head down to my local UPS store, the extremely nice and helpful people their pack it up and send it away for about $20 ( a little more than I wanted but whatever) [editline]04:40AM[/editline] [QUOTE=chunkymonkey;17649049]You spent $150 on a Core 2 Duo? Ha ha.[/QUOTE] Ya very funny :)
-snip-
It's called DOA, it happens, get over it. it would have been easier if you just contacted the store or website you bought the motherboard from and returned it.
lol at dumb person itt, stop whining about a doa. [editline]12:45AM[/editline] wait you bought a Intel motherboard? or Intel chipset board?
Part IV About 30 days later... Well after the long wait I saw the UPS truck drop off my new motherboard at my front door and I raced to get the package. I ran to my room, pulled out my knife and then opened the box and prepared to put my computer back together again. After putting everything back together again and apply thermal compound and that kind of stuff it was time to turn on the computer. At this point I was not expecting anything other than some black smoke or a load of sparks, But to my surprise the computer sprang to life cold cathodes and everything. Then to my pleasure I see the post screen (I said yay in my head) then I choose all the proper bios settings and bang I am presented with an option that reminds me of the matrix: Do you want to boot Windows 7 or Linux. Being that I wanted to play counterstrike I choose windows. [editline]04:48AM[/editline] [QUOTE=devvothechav;17649176]lol at dumb person itt, stop whining about a doa. [editline]12:45AM[/editline] wait you bought a Intel motherboard? or Intel chipset board?[/QUOTE] Intel motherboard
Okay, whats wrong, looks like its fine now.
so if the second one worked, why do you not like Intel? you had a DOA and they sent you a new one. you just overreacted about everything.
if they sent you a new one, I'd love intel, not hate them. hmmm i think i smell a troll... or an idiot :frown:
or both
PART V Well after about 3 minutes of running windows I was greeted by a nice looking BSOD. I figured it must be that it is still release candidate and has bugs so I just restart the computer and boot into linux on a separate HDD. This was going well so I figured that windows 7 was the problem and the computer was fine but then like the blink of an eye, No more power to mouse or keyboard and looping sounds coming coming out of headphones. I restarted the computer thinking it was a coincidence. Well that's funny its not posting anymore I wonder If I screwed up the bios. 20 mins later after resetting bios: Still not posting WTF. [editline]04:54AM[/editline] [QUOTE=devvothechav;17649316]if they sent you a new one, I'd love intel, not hate them. hmmm i think i smell a troll... or an idiot :frown:[/QUOTE] Please just keep reading I can type that fast
reseat your ram or set your RAM to the timings and voltage specified. I doubt you did that.
You get what you pay for.
Part VI Now this is the point that I started getting VERY angry and I don't mean angry I mean Christian Bale angry. Now Intel this is why I am angry, You have now sent me ANOTHER broken motherboard and now I might have to pay another $20 to send it back again. Thats $40 dollars I could spend on something else like an asus motherboard. [editline]05:00AM[/editline] [QUOTE=devvothechav;17649405]reseat your ram or set your RAM to the timings and voltage specified. I doubt you did that.[/QUOTE] Yes I did.
do more research before you buy something. this could've been easily avoided.
And how do you know its your motherboard? It could be your RAM thats broken, it could be your CPU, it could be your graphics card.
it could be EVERYTHING :ohdear:
Its not his RAM or GFX, because he Got new RAM and If it was GFX it would go integrated.
99% sure that it was your fault
[QUOTE=devvothechav;17649405]reseat your ram or set your RAM to the timings and voltage specified. I doubt you did that.[/QUOTE] Or he could take out his ram entirely and turn on his computer. Followed by beeps. If you hear beeps and nothing shows up on the screen, the motherboard, at least the ram slots, are fine.
OP is a moron for blaming a company for his own mistakes. Just because you got some DOA components, doesn't mean the company is shit. Research, Knowledge, and Common Sense should all be in the front of your mind when building a new computer.

off topic, but the title reminded me of King of the Hill; the episode where Hank's mother is with the Jewish man and Bobby talks about the way he talks, "This I like" vs "I like this."
how did you make that connection? lol, I'm confused.

I dont think anything but the motherboard would cut the power to the integrated usb ports.
A lot of people have problems when building a new computer. Don't overreact because your motherboard was DOA. "Oh god my shoes didn't come with laces I will never buy from Nike again aahhh"
