Mafia used to be available on Steam but that was a long time ago and only for like a year I think. I know because I bought it the minute I could because I kept losing the fucking disks.
Where the hell is World in Conflict and RUSE? It's a criminal shame those games aren't available for purchase anymore.
i feel like this article has been done already this year. i might be thinking of a different site, though they did share some similarities.
i'd also like to point out that wolfenstein 2009, mafia, battlefield 2 and XIII were on steam at one point.

You can get WiC complete from GoG and RUSE is available to download from Amazon.
Why did no one tell me this.
Could have had Prey on this list tbh.
rest in peace SWAT 4

I see mutiplayer servers on gametracker that are still populated but there seems to be no way to join them unless you have a legit copy :/

Nah, as sketchy as it is you can still get keys for that on G2A.

I wish games like these became legal to pirate when they're unobtainable by any non-second hand means. I mean it's not like the developers are losing profits or anything.
SWAT 4 is such a good coop game and it's a shame you can literally get it nowhere unless you're willing to spend $100 on the base game and $50 on the expansion unless you get lucky and find the gold edition for slightly cheaper.
I wish i could see a proper sequel to black and white. makes me happy i kept my discs
BF2 lives on with Revive though.
It would be great if ID Software could put a few of their more modern games onto GOG as well as some of Raven Software's stuff.

Soldier of Fortune is always fun to play. Glad I found a copy at Salvation Army.
Mechwarrior 2 is my first ever videogame. I actually own two copies of it, one is the original I had as a kid, the other is one my friend got me at a thrift store because I knew I love this game. Unfortunately I could never get the game to run on any OS that's not windows 95. Well that's not completely true, I managed to get the game to boot in windows 8.1 and I managed to watch the opening cinematic and get to the main menu but the colors were fucked and it was in a super tiny window. I couldn't even get the mektek program to work either.

All I can do is hope GOG works their magic and brings it back

i think our only hope for a similar game rests in rainbow six now. even if it does pale in comparison in a lot of aspects.

There's no comparing when one is a somewhat realistic SWAT sim game and the other is a competitive-focused multiplayer character shooter.

What about the dozen indie SWAT-inspired projects in the making?
Yea why the hell is BF2 gone from Steam?
How about Battle for Middle-Earth 1 & 2? Been hoping for years that it'd return or get a sequel.
I found a complete boxed copy of No One Lives Forever at goodwill for $5 but I haad no idea what it was at the time and never got it.
It was there every single time I went and the one time I wanted it, it was already gone :suicide:
Yea why the hell is BF2 gone from Steam?
Think EA pulled it out due to getting their own distribution with Origin. Might be wrong.
Cryostasis is an interesting game, but it simply disappeared from both Steam and GOG.
Yea why the hell is BF2 gone from Steam?
Because GameSpy

oh man, I've got both in my steam library. Go me!
I wish I could also have HAWX (the first one) - seems that it got removed from everywhere, and ubisoft only acknowledges hawx 2's existence, and still in a kind-of way. I still have the first HAWX on my steam wishlist, though
is there any way to get the movies digitally now??

Its pulled from Origin too because of the Gamespy shutdown.
I think you can legally download it now from battlelog.co
