Simple enough.
Basically any show (cartoon, reality TV, etc...) that you remember really enjoyed watching, then as you've gotten older and decided to rewatch it, you realize that same show has not held up particularly well, if at all?
Stargate SG1.
99% because of Amanda Tapping's character. I never noticed when I saw the odd episode here and there, but I just couldn't go past season 1 because her character fucking irritated me to no end.
Back in the day I would have killed to get see Stargate but I couldn't since it wasn't on Freesat and Netflix wasn't a thing
Saw a lot of it last year when I sat down with a friend and honestly it has a certain naffness/cheapness to it that kills it. The plot of every other episode involves one of the main 4 characters dying or all/one of them getting captured ; in general the plot is about as predictable as things can get. There's a few hysterically funny episodes where the show takes the piss out of itself, and Atlantis had the Rodney appeal, but it doesn't rank up there in my favourite Sci-Fi.
On a side note, I did very much like Stargate Universe though it also wasn't distilled excellence like Battlestar Galatica's reboot.
