Whether you're a fan of this game or not (personally, I don't see what all the fuss is about. I've been playing games like this in Flash on the net since I was a kid), this is pretty impressive and possibly shows where mobile gaming is (arguably, unfortunately) headed.
Wonder if their next game will just be a prettier version of an already made flash game.
Give it another year. The hype on this will likely be gone and replaced by that of another game. That's just how it goes.
Still, 1 billion downloads is a hell of an accomplishment.
One BILLION downloads? That means this application alone has earned apple over $150,000,000 (taking into account the 70/30 split apple gives to developers, and estimating that 50% of the downloads are purchases, at $1).
I love angry birds. it's a fun game to play at work while waiting for stuff to image and reformat.
I still don't see why people love Angry Birds so much.

Well. Not exactly. Considering it's on a bunch of platforms and on chrome and android for free and such.

Angry Birds Space is genuinely fun as fuck. Needs more levels.
It blows my mind that it does this well. Maybe I just don't like that kind of game, but also considering it's yet another physics fling kind of game that have already been made, it confuses me.
