I recently bought a SanDisk Ultra II 480 GB SSD, but for some reason, it's not showing up on the BIOS at all, I've tried a few things.
Unplug HDD and use that plug for the SSD.
Unplug HDD and use different cable for the SSD.
Trying different ports for SSD with and without the HDD plugged in.
Using the power cable for the SSD alone because I thought it might not even be powering up.
Using a different power cable.
Updated my BIOS aswell to make sure that nothing was wrong with it.
The SATA Cables are fine, they're Corsair 6 GB/s ones that came with my Motherboard, my Motherboard being a Z97-Pro, the power cables are also fine since they power my HDD without a problem.
I don't understand why it's not working and could really do with some help.
I'm going to say the obvious but has you tried it in another system and was the SSD new.
SanDisk's are not well known for their reliability so if its 2nd hand you might have just bought a brick.
It is brand new and I haven't tried it in another system but I can do so.
I would give it a go in another system just to make sure its not DoA, it is something that can happen.
Other than that I wouldn't really know why it wont detect it, you do have AHCI set instead of IDE in the BIOS as some boards wont pickup SSDs unless you have it running AHCI.
Yeah it was also one of the things I checked, set to ACHI, all the SATA ports are enabled too so there's no problem with that either.
Is fastboot enabled? Disable that.
I believe it is, why, what effect would that have on it?

Also I tried it on my Dad's computer and it still didn't show up.
Ive had this problem too. Bought an ssd for our old family system and it just wouldnt recognize it but when i plug it into my newer motherboad it easily detected it. Couldnt find a solution either ended up just using the ssd on the newer system i have.

Fastboot skips the check for drives during boot
Disabled Fast Boot, still not showing up.

It actually skips usb devices iirc. It still needs to check for drives.
Op, just get it replaced under warranty, you've tried it in two systems already.
For anyone arsed about this, I swapped the SanDisk for a Samsung, less capacity, 250 GB as opposed to 480 GB but hey, dis shit works.
