It looks really ugly.
It looks really ugly.
It's no wonder that people can't take games seriously when all the "gamer" peripherals look like something out of a 90's hacker flick.
Looks somewhat out of place.. I have always really enjoyed the LED display on the keyboards that show stats and stuff. Personally i would want something like this but more streamlined and minimal. [t]http://www4.pcmag.com/media/images/320504-logitech-g19s-gaming-keyboard-angle.jpg?width=630[/t]
Logitech reckon their own mechanical switch design is superior to the popular Cherry design, requiring a 45 gram actuation force and 1.5mm actuation point to register a keystroke, which in theory makes them easier to press.
Cherry browns have a 2mm actuation point and exactly the same force. So basically these are just knockoff browns like Razer used, including the ±0.5mm tolerance as a feature :v:
No article, my response is still: slow news day huh?

I never got why all gamer keyboards need to look so futuristic and sci-fi. I love my simple look on my WASD V2 keyboard.
No numpad? What the fuck are these guys even on. Any computer user than isn't like some dude that only goes on facebook and watches netflix on his iMac is going to need a numpad at some point in life. It's like that pipe I always bring with me, never know when you are in dire need of an iron pipe.
The EVGA Z10 is the only g4m3r keyboard I'm remotely interested in.

On my 60% keyboard that I use for travel, I have not once thought that I needed a numpad. Besides, basically all the functionality that is in the numpad is usually baked into the alphanumeric keys through FN layers in smaller boards.
why cant they make nice full sized keyboards that are bluetooth? I own their K811. I wish they would accept bluetooth and fuck off with 2.4GHz USB dongles
So basically it's a cheaply made board with ~fancy~ lights [editline]29th September 2015[/editline]
No numpad? What the fuck are these guys even on. And I use my mouse for pageup/dwn end/home back/forward / etc numpads are fairly useless. I'm not going to waste space on something I'll use ?maybe? once. If I need it I'll buy one seperate, like a nice little HP numpad or something. Unless I do tons of math, why do I need 2 entire sets of the exact same numbers?

Customizeable bugger but seems to lock features behind some small purchases, annoying. I liked having the display on my older keyboard but rarely actually used it for anything other than the clock.

That said I think the Quickfire TK has a good compromise. They basically combined the numpad and the command keys into one unit so you can switch between them when needed and it takes up about the same amount of space. God I hate Logitech. They make cheap headsets that break if they fall. I had one recently fall (G430 Quake Edition) and a piece snapped inside of the headset.
Numpads are really nice if you work with numbers frequently for work or school but if you don't then you honestly can live without.
pretty much that if you use numbers a bunch it's easy to justify not using it numpads are probably a life saver for people who need to crunch numbers daily I'd love to see a keyboard that removes the number row and only has then on the numpad, and combines the function keys into the qwerty row with a fnc button like 60%'s do, making it really nice and light but effective [editline]29th September 2015[/editline]
God I hate Logitech.
I love my logitech mouse but their software is made of tin and paper razers gamepads aren't so steller but their software is great
If I were buying a mouse right now it would almost certainly be a Logitech. But I'm not. My 5-year old MX518 is still holding up perfectly fine and I'm riding this sucker into the ground.

I DO wish they gave up on audio, however, just isn't their thing. They should fund more mice and keyboards.

My display showed me when i got a new mail or when i got a new notification on Skype/mail/IRC, pretty handy. Not a bad place to set it up if my desk is a mess also as a lefty who rebinds keys constantly, I do have to remind people, the numpad numbers aren't tied to the homerow numkeys. You can bind them to do different things for your game without worrying about overriding your 12345- weapon slots or skillbar or whatever, then it's within reach for your right hand to leave the mouse (if there's opportunity) and toggle some junk [editline]e[/editline] also to people complaining about the color junk, you can do whatever you like with it. It totally looks cheap as hell if you use more than two colors like in the example pictures, especially with yellow involved. It's an expensive keyboard for what it is but I'd say it's decent if you thoroughly utilize the features. I'm sure someone more involved with mech keyboards could find ten examples of things that do it all better, but if I've got a dead board and a local best buy the time and convenience made it up
So you can pretend to be tactically superior to those without
I need to hear there footsteps with my turtle beaches on CoD  In all seriousness I got a logitech headset as a gift sometime ago, probably my favorite one since it hasn't broken yet. I still just prefer to use my surround sound system though.
The 2nd version of the logitech G15 was the best, shame mine died.
And sounds like a 1940 typewriter.
That's part of the appeal. Though mechanical keyboards vary in their loudness based on their switch type; a MX Cherry Red or Black makes very little noise, whereas the MX Blue and Green make a distinctive click. Brown and Clear are middle-of-the-road. All switches can be fitted with sound reducing O-rings. The Logitech proprietary switches are basically a kinda shoddy knock-off of the Brown switches. Personally I hate the G910 keyboard that this is based on, it tries too hard to be a ~special~ keyboard with its bizarre key caps and the weird switches. I just stuck with the relatively simple G710+ with slightly click Brown switches. If you want a really loud keyboard, get a Intel Model M or a Unicomp, which have a switch that clicks when you push and clacks when you let go.
