NO2 being used as drug at parties - Police take notice.

N2O, not NO2.
LOS ANGELES — Authorities say the use of nitrous oxide as a recreational drug has grown from a rave party phenomenon to mainstream use, propelled by the ease of social media to reach young people.
They say the drug has spurred fatal car accidents, rapes and teen deaths — all in the name of a temporary high that lasts just a few minutes and costs just a few dollars.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials have zeroed in on the recreational use of the drug since September, cracking down on more than 350 illegal parties, nearly all of which were selling nitrous oxide, or "noz," spokesman Mike Parker said Thursday.
[...]
"They're doing the social media equivalent of standing outside the front doors of a high school at 3 o'clock as school lets out with a megaphone announcing that there'll be drugs, noz and alcohol for children, and then handing out fliers to all the kids that are interested," Parker said.
[...]
Part of the problem for law enforcement officers going after the illegal use of nitrous oxide is that its distribution or use as a recreational drug is only a misdemeanor, officials said.
Sheriff's Lt. Rod Armalin said that the department is working on legislation to increase the penalties.
Armalin supervises the team that responds to many of these illegal parties and tries to prevent them from happening.
Honestly, having done a variety of shit, anything that doesn't give you a high for at least an hour just isn't worth a dime. Not that kids would know, I guess.
i did noz a few times. it's really overrated. i have no idea why someone would willingly do it more than like twice as an experiment.
Basically all I'm getting at here is "Why bother?". Maybe it makes them feel edgy.

salvia is the shortest high i would be willing to pay for, and even then only every once in a while.

overrated yes, addicting, very yes
pretty sure they had nitrus oxide parties back in the 19th century anyway so it's not like this is a new development or anything

NO2 is addictive?
i don't get how it gets to the point where someone can be addicted. it's so short idk why anyone would subject themselves to the chemical with enough frequency to form a dependency.
haha what this has been going around for years here
why are people trying so hard to get high off of stupid shit
just stick to the shit that's been time tested to work, goddamn
N2O =/= NO2
I'm assuming the article is referring to the following.

i know i was confused too. im p. sure they are talking bout n2o thought.
Whoops. Hold on.
Mixing up N2O and NO2 is pretty bad.
Nitrogen dioxide is about as deadly as chlorine gas. Inhaling it would mean you're severely injured/poisoned/dead.
Nitrous oxide isn't near that, maybe on par with chloroform. Not deadly unless you basically pump yourself full of the stuff.
...and that's been solved.
Anyways, nitrous is a pretty damn common drug. I've seen it a few times and I don't get the appeal of such a short high.
and, in typical cop comment fashion, I bring you this:
Wait until they push for its use as medical nitrous. After all, medical marijuana seems to be working out very well.
ahnahahasdhahaha medical nitrous omfg do these people refuse to do a quick google search before spewing bullshit out of their mouth or what?

They dont actually. Most cops are ultra-conservative republicans

NO2 is fine just wash it down with some HO2

So much irony in your post it hurts.

Nothing wrong with some nice H3O as appetizer and H2O2 as dessert.
Too much chemistry in this thread, im out
-returns to rewatching breaking bad-
I wanted so hard to reply to your 20 things thread but I held back. Now you come up with this. You are not representing the uniform very well.
this kid i worked with did it one time at work and couldn't stop laughing it was pretty funny but personally i'd never fuck with it after seeing what it did too steve-o lmao
At least Steve-O could use punctuation.
I don't care, although watch them ban it for the "Children" and still use it at the dentists office. It's fucking laughing gas, it's safer then smoking weed.

I've been putting food in my hair my whole life
Nitrous is a pretty common recreational drug. When I went to Ultra a few years ago there were people selling balloons of it on the streets outside of it for a couple bucks each. I didn't get one, but it can be fun every now and then.
It's not federally illegal, but some states have banned it.

People have been doing this at parties since the 1700s
They shouldn't be taking drugs, they should be drinking booze like healthy teen's.
They didn't do that back then, you must be getting opium mixed up with NO2. Opium was very popular in China back in the day, and subsequently made its way to the west coast. There were gatherings taken place in opium dens where people hung around and took the drug. Now that shit was addictive and phased out as people began to realize how destructive it was. Especially to the Chinese.
Just now? Really?
