• Russia finances and sells 19.5% of Rosneft oil company to undisclosed parties
(Reuters) - More than a month after Russia announced one of its biggest privatizations since the 1990s, selling a 19.5 percent stake in its giant oil company Rosneft, it still isn't possible to determine from public records the full identities of those who bought it. The stake was sold for 10.2 billion euros to a Singapore investment vehicle that Rosneft said was a 50/50 joint venture between Qatar and the Swiss oil trading firm Glencore. Unveiling the deal at a televised meeting with Rosneft's boss Igor Sechin on Dec. 7, President Vladimir Putin called it a sign of international faith in Russia, despite U.S. and EU financial sanctions on Russian firms including Rosneft. "It is the largest privatization deal, the largest sale and acquisition in the global oil and gas sector in 2016," Putin said. It was also one of the biggest transfers of state property into private hands since the early post-Soviet years, when allies of President Boris Yeltsin took control of state firms and became billionaires overnight. But important facts about the deal either have not been disclosed, cannot be determined solely from public records, or appear to contradict the straightforward official account of the stake being split 50/50 by Glencore and the Qataris.
Reuters Does 19.5 sound familiar? That was roughly the same number revealed in a leaked dossier speaking about this happening between Russia and Trump to lift sanctions on Russia. https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1550324 Seems SO strange that Trump has been shouting FAKE NEWS...Almost to encourage a distrust in media in case this were to pop in the open...
Lock him up?
This looks pretty damning.
No way. That's the exact share the dossier named. This is like a bad novel. Impeachment when?
You guys might have a legit traitor in every meaning of the word, in the presidency of the most powerful country of the planet, that would be amazing it wasn't terrifying.
and once again the gop will do nothing about this
and once again the gop will do nothing about this
If it turns out their President is a Russian puppet who's dealing with an enemy state? They'll crucify him. Remember: Most of the GOP establishment is very much against lifting Russia's sanctions.
Why the fuck Trump thinks its a good idea to lose his credibility fully within less than a month? It's not even funny at this point. He literally sells US to Russia on the 2nd week of his term.
If it turns out their President is a Russian puppet who's dealing with an enemy state? They'll crucify him.
why would they?
Posted it in another thread, but probably fits better here. Friend of mine linked me this: https://medium.com/@yonatanzunger/trial-balloon-for-a-coup-e024990891d5#.uvuya2kqq Which is major tinfoil hat territory, but something's undeniably fucky about the whole situation. Bannon on the council, but the directors of national intel and chiefs of staff kicked off? Judge ordered them to halt the detaining of people and border control literally just went 'no'? This ban being instituted while bypassing dhs? Pretty much all of the state department being kicked out almost overnight? Rosneft being sold like this almost to the letter following the reported amount? [editline]30th January 2017[/editline]
why would they?
Because they're VERY anti-Russian.
why would they?
Because Republicans may have views I fundamentally disagree with, but they are, for the most part, patriots. If Trump has been aiding Russia, he's committed treason - that comes with a death sentence as one of its consequences, in federal law.
-snip nevermind, different dossier-

If anything they would be pissed because trump would've sunk a full republican controlled government and gave the democrats opportunity to return in force in 2018 to the senate/house.

Does anyone have a sparknotes quick summary of what exactly this shit means?
Does anyone have a sparknotes quick summary of what exactly this shit means?
Trump might have cut a deal with Russia to lift sanctions that's basically just a bribe (that would end up in his own bank). If true, trump can be tried for treason.
Does anyone have a sparknotes quick summary of what exactly this shit means?

A dossier with unverified claims about President Donald Trump's ties to Russia contained allegations that Igor Sechin, the CEO of Russia's state oil company, offered former Trump ally Carter Page and his associates the brokerage of a 19% stake in the company in exchange for the lifting of US sanctions on Russia.
And surprise, exact stake goes to some unnamed shell-companies. It requires some good investigation.
Right.. At what point does it become a statement of patriotism and national pride to call for the forceful removal of the current US president by any means necessary?
Trump might have cut a deal with Russia to lift sanctions that's basically just a bribe (that would end up in his own bank). If true, trump can be tried for treason.
This may sound like a dumb question But how serious is a treason charge? Purely because of his position of power.
Right.. At what point does it become a statement of patriotism and national pride to call for the forceful removal of the current US president by any means necessary?
When that president espouses values that run counter to American values as a country. When, furthermore, that president abuses his power, refuses to use the established system to pass his 'decrees', and instructs government agencies to ignore the courts - which are given the authority to rein in any executive order.
This may sound like a dumb question But how serious is a treason charge? Purely because of his position of power.
Extremely. Probably amplified by his position of power.
This may sound like a dumb question But how serious is a treason charge? Purely because of his position of power.
arguably the single mort serious charge possible in the usa
This may sound like a dumb question But how serious is a treason charge? Purely because of his position of power.
I don't think you can get a more serious charge tbh.
arguably the single mort serious charge possible in the usa
It's a bigly charge.
If Trump doesn't get fucking impeached after this, or if people higher up don't connect the dots and step in, I give up.
Um I appreciate it's abysmal if true, but there's no substantial evidence for this actually ending up in Trumps pocket yet right? We shouldn't decry fake news whilst also jumping to conclusions.
It's simply a very suspicious coincidence considering that the same percentage of shares of the same company was promised to Trump by Putin, according to the intelligence dossier.
If Trump doesn't get fucking impeached after this, or if people higher up don't connect the dots and step in, I give up.
Or, alternatively, rebel. If the system won't fix itself, then it might be time to fix it ourselves. I see a full rebellion or even revolution becoming more and more likely every day, and once the economy crashes it will be inevitable. There will be too many people with nothing to lose.
I get the feeling this will be our Benghazi for the next 4 years. "He committed treason", we shout, as the fully Republican government turns a blind eye and doesn't investigate. Even if it's true, an espionage deal like this between the highest levels of power in the world probably would be experienced in cleaning up any evidence that could be used in an investigation.
