Laptop hard disk not recognized by Windows after taking out and putting back in

Hello people. The other day I took a (second) HDD out of my laptop to transfer some files to my new desktop, and now I put it back in the laptop. Here is the problem now though - on the laptop, Windows does not seem to recognize the HDD at all, even though it was recognized before I put it back in. It boots up without problems since the actual OS is on the SSD which I did not touch at all (both SSD and HDD separately inside the laptop). The HDD seems to be recognized just fine in the BIOS/UEFI settings, and I can clearly hear it spin up just fine when the computer starts, but in Windows, it does not show up anywhere, including explorer, device manager, and disk management. Why might this be happening? Did I possibly accidentally break it in some way I cannot tell in the process of putting it back in? I was able to read/write just fine while it was connected to the new desktop I was transferring the files to.
Unlikely that you broke it, did you definatley re-install it properly? Even if it had somehow been re-formatted or modified in some way it should still be picked up by disk manager.
In Disk Management is there just a random extra drive? That happened with my fourth drive, it would spin up, but it wouldn't show up anywhere, so I checked Disk Management, it showed an extra nameless disk that wasn't "set up," all I had to do was reassign a drive letter to it and it worked. Maybe that's happening?
Okay, I took apart the laptop again and reseated the HDD, did nothing. Again, nothing even hinting to it in either Disk Management or Device Manager, but I can clearly hear it spin up as it should.

Okay, so after restarting a few times Windows finally seemed to do a "disk check" during startup saying "press any key to skip disk check", so I just let it do that and it seems to recognize the HDD and works without problems now. Consider this problem solved!
