Google "accidentally" made the new Gmail interface's video public for a few minutes, someone grabbed it and reuploaded it.

I don't know whether should I like the changes or not.
It's been available as a preview for weeks though.
Just incase it gets removed from youtube..

Not this iteration, several tweaks to messages were introduced that aren't present in the previews. Then again, they are just previews.
I've been using this for months?

Know any way to enable it aside from the initial message it gives you? Accidentally hit no when it initially asked..

Settings then themes tab then click the 'Preview' theme.
I think it should be like that on the old theme, it's like that on the new one.
Couldn't go back after switching to the preview. Any old Gmail theme looks like it came out of 2004 in comparison.
Eh, not a fan.

Remember guys, that this video is not marketing the "Preview" theme, it is other improvements.
Search, Conversation view, Action Bar, etc

It looks cool and has cool features.
Cool.
I'm actually pretty excited about this. I like how google lately has been making all of their products have the same theme/color scheme.
It looks like google+ ?
every google service is starting to look like that. G+ was just the first. Personally, I like it.
It looks like google+ ?
That's good. It means it stays consistent.
The update is live by the way.
There's a little popup in the bottom of your Gmail if you want to switch to the new look.

Yeah, I just switched over. Looks nice.
I only rarely check mail (i.e bimonthly)

Gotta love people that mirror stuff
This is a pretty bad update, I have been using the preview theme for a long time now, and it was better. This one hides to many thinks (task, contacts, important buttons, etc) behind menus. All it did was make stuff so big that they needed to hide things they deemed less important behind menus, and now very little people will ever edit their contacts, use Google Tasks, and mark something as 'unimportant' ever again.
And since I don't browse full screen, I can't use the 'comfortable' size theme. Damn why is hiding stuff and making icons enormous viewed as improvements now?

That's a pretty far-fetched assumption that people will stop using contacts/tasks just because it's one more click away than before.
And of course you can't use the 'comfortable' size on a smaller window space. That's for people with actual screen estate. It makes sense that you're forced to use a denser view...

If people had some sort of phobia of drop down menus, nobody would use them. All they did was layer some paint on the old Gmail system, and organize things a bit more. Sure, the different icon set takes some getting used to, but quite honestly, it's not that much different.

Casual users, Google's new target demographic, won't. Right clicking is a hassle to them for god's sake, a drop down menu they won't notice is not a good idea.

Because it's impossible to notice that dropdown arrow:

And there's only TWO buttons "hidden" behind the menu: tasks and contacts. There are no other 'important buttons'.

"Casual" users and "Grandparents" are two different demographics. And for the record, my Grandma is in her 60ies and loves the new look, and has had no trouble clicking the drop downs implemented recently.

Well, on most of my contacts anyway.
