[vid]http://ht3.cdn.turner.com/money/big/news/2017/03/07/nike-pro-hijab.cnnmoney_1024x576.mp4[/vid] The head cover, called the "Nike Pro Hijab," boasts a single-layer pull-on design made from lightweight polyester in dark, neutral colors. The fabric's tiny holes will make it breathable while remaining opaque, a requirement for hijab-wearing women. Nike (NKE) said it began developing the hijab after some Muslim athletes complained about wearing a traditional head scarf during competition.
Never thought Nike would offer a Hijab. Wondering how long until Adidas jumps in. That's pretty cool
I'm surprised this wasn't done much sooner. There are millions of muslim women in the world and nike just thought to try to profit off them
That's a pretty good idea, actually. Female Muslim athletes who still wear headcoverings can now get something more lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. That advertisement sets the perfect tone, too. This will probably be a huge commercial success.
Can't wait for the inevitable outcry and boycott.
I just want an Adidas one for the three stripe slav squat posts from Chechnya to start popping up.
How did it take 13 months to come up with that?
How did it take 13 months to come up with that?
Surveying, market testing, product designs, material design, product testing, marketing strategization, focus groups, etc.
I like the idea, but I don't like the placement of the Nike logo. Maybe some people would be into it, but I think it just looks off.
I like it. Nikes innovating with this and the plus sized line
How did it take 13 months to come up with that?
Probably testing various focus groups if the Nike Swoosh logo being on a hijab might be too excessive at different sizes/locations. :v:
When can I buy a Nike yarmulke?
I'm surprised this wasn't done much sooner. Logo in question: I was a kid in Dubai at the time, Nike shoes in general were just kept off shelves while it was blowing up. Probably not surprising that companies haven't really approached anything muslim-centered with a bargepole since.

Would a Adidas hijab have the stripe on it?
http://www.allthingsjewish.com/browseproducts/Nike-Kippah.html right here
oy vey, it's real ok smart guy, where can I buy a nike priest collar?
How did it take 13 months to come up with that?
Making something isn't as easy as having an idea.
hypebeasts will convert to islam if supreme starts producing hijabs
oy vey, it's real ok smart guy, where can I buy a nike priest collar?
Most day to day Christians now wear priest collars?
Most day to day Christians now wear priest collars?
what, you don't? pfft, no fashion sense.
The design is great except for logo. Probably my mother want to buy this since hijab for sport is really hard to find
How did it take 13 months to come up with that?
bloated internal bureaucracy.
finally, i can convert
Wonder how long it will be before some religious leader issues a fatwa saying these things are the devil simply because it was produced by "the west".
I'm guessing this took so long because they needed to make it so it would not come off unless the wearer took it off and it's able to breathe well to the point where it's like it's not even there but still completely obscures the wearer's head. It also has to do all that and stay durable, be easy to clean since it will be on a sweaty head, not get itchy, and it has to be stable since you can't have it ride up or start getting in the way

Unfortunately its not that easy. The best we can do is to make sure they take steps fowards, not back
