the fuck is a chemistry set
This game is so lost to me now.
the fuck is a chemistry set
A collection of items that, when put together, create a strange whatever-hat-it-is-for
Removed showing the Marked For Death icon over the head of the local player
Freakin' finally.
oh no cosmetic items that don't effect gameplay, boohoo, might as well hate the whole game.
He didn't say he hated it. He said he was confused by it or it's changed so much he doesn't recognize it. Something like that.
oh no cosmetic items that don't effect gameplay, boohoo, might as well hate the whole game.
one could argue that all of these cosmetic items are affecting gameplay because the sheer amount of hats and dumb items has made tf2's performance tank in the last few years.
one could argue that all of these cosmetic items are affecting gameplay because the sheer amount of hats and dumb items has made tf2's performance tank in the last few years.
that's a valid argument, however there are around some nice mods that remove all the cosmetics and enhance your performance.
that's a valid argument, however there are around some nice mods that remove all the cosmetics and enhance your performance.
A non-official modification is beside the point, though. It's undeniable that TF2 runs marginally worse than it did in 2007.
They forgot about Medic's viewmodels. All viewmodels are gone except for the stock weapons.
oh no cosmetic items that don't effect gameplay, boohoo, might as well hate the whole game.
The weapons do affect gameplay, though.
The weapons do affect gameplay, though.
Cosmetics =/= weapons
I've got a few chemistry sets. I'll explain one for those that don't quite understand. It looks like a box. Click it on the backpack and it says why that particular kit is for. This one makes a strange Archimedes (tracks kills when equipped). I need 7 huntsmans, 2 rescue rangers and 4 übersaws. I then select create when I have all the items, I get a potion bottle which I use on an Archimedes to make it strange.
They forgot about Medic's viewmodels. All viewmodels are gone except for the stock weapons.
I removed my Medic 70 FOV fixes and they work fine to me now.
A non-official modification is beside the point, though. It's undeniable that TF2 runs marginally worse than it did in 2007.
Not unexpected. When you add more shit for your computer to render, of course performance will be worse.
All these hats and cosmetics mean that TF2 is 12 fucking gigabytes.
oh no cosmetic items that don't effect gameplay, boohoo, might as well hate the whole game.
To be fair, the cosmetics DO affect gameplay because they upset visual flow and are a fucking atom bomb for your CPU. [editline]4th September 2013[/editline]
But computer hardware is much more powerful now, so it shouldn't be an issue.
It is an issue because even if you have a CPU the game itself is not meant to have this much shit dancing around like a Jack Russell fucking terrier constantly adhered to people's bones often with differing particle effects, jiggle bones, multiple skins, shaders, colorability, animation, and faceposing. It's like grabbing every single fucking performance-gobbling aspect and vomiting it into a blender like a clown at a birthday party. The game is as drunk on its own content as a divorcee at christmas, and don't get me started on how fucking poopoo the balance is nowadays. In the days of 2007 TF2 you could always have a tactic to counteract someone's weapons because they were always stock. Not anymore, that guy has the dildonator 2000, which means you'll have to swap weapons or even classes to get around his damage resistances and be effective towards him! have fun! The game is still fun but you cannot deny that it has become a swirling bumfuck in the past three years.
The weapons do affect gameplay, though.
The most are shit anyway and always have more downsides than positive effects.
