“They have done great on Steam, and hopefully that introduced a lot of new people to the Ys series so that they will want to check out the latest offering on PS Vita when it comes out later this year,” Berry replied. “They’ve surpassed our expectations, and we are definitely looking to bring more titles to PC.”
Link is broken.

Done
Well that's pretty neat. I've always been curious as to why JRPGs are less common on PC.

Because the PSP came into existence.

Mostly because in Japan PC gamers are even more of a minority, and have their own cultural stigma.
(iirc PC games are associated with porn games)

Japan is console dominant market.

It's harder to distribute games on PC in a lot of Asia due to a somewhat hefty lack of support from services, like the ones we use.
And a lot of Japanese developers seem to be 'loyal' to Consoles in a way.
someone get me an HD xenoblade chronicles on steam STAT
XSEED has done great with the Ys series. They have some really dedicated people working for them.
I would actually give up an arm and leg for Disgaea on PC.

I'd give up all of my limbs if it meant Atlus ported all of their games to PC.

Imagine Disgaea with mod support.
That would be horrifying.
They need to convince Falcom to port Ys Celceta on PC.

It'd be nice if they could port the other Ys games as well. (Ark of Napishtim and Seven, are there any others that I'm forgetting though?)

not gonna happen. Nintendo property, won't be released on any other platforms
Hey man... the more games the better!
They need to convince Falcom to port Ys Celceta on PC.
I first played Ys 3 at my grandpa's house on the super nintendo. The music in that was badass (which is true with all Ys games) so it was one of the first games I ever beat. I've played most of them up to seven, which only exists on PC in china for some reeason. I didn't even know Celceta existed, so I guess that's another port I gotta wait for.
I'm glad xseed realizes how many people prefer PC games

That was my very first Ys game. I still have it even. They've only gotten better since too.

See, I'm aware of that, but why don't more people do ports like XSEED?

Other users ITT have summed it up better than me. To add, I think japan is scared of piracy but they see steam as a good DRM service to sell their games on.
