Tom Boddingham ordered a pair of custom novelty slippers off website Monster Slippers. Tom, who's 6'7" and possibly the son of a Yeti, ordered a size 14.50 for his left foot and 13 for his right because DAMN BRO YOUR FEET ARE A SIZE-AND-A-HALF APART?! Mine are only 1/2, freak!
When the 27-year-old ordered a special monster-design slipper to fit his oversized left foot, he was sent this size 1,450 one - because manufacturers failed to spot a decimal point.
He had requested a 14.5, as well as a smaller size 13 for his right foot. The pair cost £15.50.
However, manufacturers in China misread the measurement and accidentally made the whopping seven foot-long slipper, which was shipped to him along with the correct smaller size.
Apparently workers in the slipper factory assumed his giant order was for a shop window display.
Cheap PR stunt aside (now verified), that might be the nicest novelty monster foot sleeping bag I've ever seen.. Is there room for two in there? *crawling in* Play with my hair till I fall asleep?
That thing looks awesome
I would make it my bed.
And be proud.
Not once in the entire manufacturing process did anyone look at the other and ask themselves, "Isn't this a bit big?"
brb ordering slipper double the size
publicity stunt

this was all set up, but its still fuckin amazing nonetheless
And suddenly it's sold worlwide
I'd fucking sleep in it.
Why would a factory make a shoe this size for a normal shipping and postage cost? Definitely PR stunt.
Brb e-mailing china.
Reminds me of this
I want one
I wonder if theres space for 2, maybe 3 persons...
Imagine all the spiders or rats that would nest in it.

Imagine the spiders and insects you could kill with that :v:
Obviously a bullshit publicity stunt.
However, it is very amusing. I have the strange urge to bolt it onto a Beetle chassis.

The Guardian always comes out with the article written by someone with more than a single braincell and a lot of intellect, which is why I read it instead of other newspapers.
obviously a slipper that size would cost more than £15.50
I literally bursted out laughing when I saw the picture in the OP :v:
I wear size 15 shoe. I'm 6 and a half feet tall. The article calling him yeti makes me feel insecure. :(

the misinterpretation probably happened after billing but before manufacture

Damn I want one of those.

Second'd. I have heard of this happening before. Nobody finds out about it either until the annual audit comes around.
Do people really have different sized feet? I have always bought shoes in the same size and had absolutely no problems.
Either way, pretty sure whatever factory that makes the slippers doesn't have the capability to make them that huge...

Size 14.5 is big? Horse shit. I wear size 16 Wide.
A shoe only King Kong and Godzilla can wear
I want to slap whoever wrote the article. Not the content, just the presentation.
Hey, that thing looks like it would be mighty nice to sleep in.
Plus, how many people can say they sleep in an oversized bear paw?
