The show featured a segment showing the hosts looking at a bridge they had built on the River Kwai as a local man walked across it. Clarkson remarked: "That is a proud moment. But there's a slope on it." Ofcom, who investigated after two viewers complained, said the use of the word "slope" was offensive.
Wow, two viewers.
Wow, two viewers.
in ofcom terms thats about 2 million people
People need to stop complaining and grow a pair. I haven't seen the incident but I honestly don't think he used it to be offensive
Not this shit again
People need to stop complaining and grow a pair. I haven't seen the incident but I honestly don't think he used it to be offensive
didn't he later admit it was referring to the asian man as the joke?
didn't he later admit it was referring to the asian man as the joke?
As I said I never saw the incident so I probably shouldn't be commenting about it but I know Top Gear is a respectable show that's been around a while
didn't he later admit it was referring to the asian man as the joke?
The producers say they thought 'slope' was just a slang word and didn't know it was offensive
If 2 viewers are offended they should just stay offended. Jesus christ what babies.
It seems he's been in trouble for using the N-Word as well. Sure, he might have said it but I don't think he meant it in a bad way and it was almost completely mumbled. I don't think he has anything against black people.
Jesus Christ are people still on about this? The man apologized publicly for it.
Jesus Christ are people still on about this? The man apologized publicly for it.
All the articles about it keep referencing the N-Word thing. Here's the apology.
Top Gear is a respectable show
Is that sarcasm? They make fun of a lot of shit.
Is that sarcasm? They make fun of a lot of shit.
From what I've watched, he pokes fun at everything and each other. He even makes a fool of himself.
I feel offended by the 2 viewers, pls revoke their passports

The only reason we know about it is because The Mirror got hold of the footage a couple of years later and decided to tell everyone to be offended by it. The BBC have told Clarkson that if he crosses the line again, he'll be sacked. I doubt it'll happen though. If Clarkson is sacked then Top Gear's ratings will plummet.
wasn't this two months ago?
From what I've watched, he pokes fun at everything and each other. He even makes a fool of himself.
That's the charm of top gear.
Really?
Ofcom ruled there was "clearly an opportunity both during filming and post-production to research the word and reach a more considered view on whether it was 'mere slang'".
Oh fuck right off. I honestly cannot comprehend how this is still a thing.
I think people need to get the fuck over it and harden the fuck up
it's just a joke, like on top gear
Maybe those two viewers should build a bridge and get over it
The bridge was sloped. It had as slope on it. You'd think the country that invented the language, would understand that language.

slope is a very, very outdated racial slur i'm surprised people are actually offended by it and don't just find it endearing
Leave Jeremy Clarkson alone, please !!!!!!!! Leave Jeremy Clarkson alone RIGHT NOW !!!!
Why is the world so full of easily offended people (crybabies)?
Why the fuck are people still mad about this? Wasn't this shit from months ago?
I swear to god getting offended is the new trend and it works with everything! I hope I never meet people that complain about stuff like this in real life.
