I was told by a friend to update catalyst. I was on version 2008.something and I updated to 9.9 64-bit.
I downloaded the setup file, installed it to Program Files (x86)/ATI Technologies/ (where the old one was, it was not running in 32-bit mode though), and during the install, at "Installing Catalyst Control Center" I got the following error:
---------------------------
InstallManagerApp
---------------------------
Application Install: install package failure!
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
It then went on to registration, and asked me to reboot. I rebooted, and was greeted by the lovely message:
---------------------------
---------------------------
Could not load file or assembly 'CLI.Implementation, Version=2.0.3512.36798, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

CCC won't start, giving that error. My games won't start, and windows aero and themes are disabled.
Please someone help!
I have two radeon hd 4670's in crossfire, a dell xps 625, and vista premium x64.
reinstall drivers
Uninstall the CCC, it is obvious, i have had problems like this before.
I can't uninstall, I get an error. I can't reinstall, I get an error.
safemodebro
Nevermind, not an ATi user so I didn't know CCC wasn't linked to drivers..
It's not a problem with the driver, just catalyst control center.

Does stuff in /Program Files (x86)/ automatically get run in 32-bit mode? That could be a problem maybe... idk.
Use drivercleaner pro, totally destroy CCC, then reinstall. Mine is busted still (Mom.implement or whatever) but aero and shit still works.
Every-time I update my drivers, it says I don't have enough room...
Wow I'm glad I got a 9800 my integrated gpu is ati something, something I missed out on the hybrid crossfire thing. To bad. And my integrated ran css on full with 4x aa. I was fucking impressed.
Related: I stand by the saying if it isn't broke don't fuck with it...
I had a similar problem with a really old card a 5500 I think, I took the card out and removed the drivers and the catalyst thing and installed the drivers without the card in the machine. It was fine from there.
Help! I tried a sysrestore and now it hangs at vista loading then begins an endless reboot cycle.
Trying to use the vista install disc comes up with errors about missing CD/DVD drivers. I can't find them anywhere. WHAT DO I DO?
This computer is 2wks old and cost £1000 :(
Call the smug who sold it to you and tell him to give you your 1000 pounds back.
Went away this weekend and went into a Currys. They're refusing to give me my money back as it isn't a hardware fault. Is there any other way I could recover?
