• Problem with windows Error 0xc000000f on Windows 7

Today, my dads laptop wouldn't let him access it. It would show the Toshiba start up screen, and then say that there was trouble booting and that he needed to put the Windows Installation disc in to repair it. The laptop came pre-loaded with Windows 7 and did not include an installation disc. We made a backup disc the day we got it, and he put it in and ran it but its currently stuck saying that its trying to secure user data before wiping it. I've downloaded an ISO for the version of windows and put it in a flash drive, which is what we are going to try to use next, but it doesn't seem like it is going to work. Is there anything we can do?
Did you try going into the recovery console and doing a file system check? Try running chkdsk in the recovery console followed by fixboot and fixmbr if the former doesn't help.
a friend of mine had a toshiba laptop with a similar problem trying to install windows 7 from a usb. go into the bios settings (I think it's f2 on boot up on toshibas iirc), and under the advance tab try changing the boot mode from UEFI to CSM then try booting from the usb again. after doing that I was able to install from the usb without error, not sure if this would be the solution here, but worth the try.
