Other things happening:
Windows defender keeps bitching at me, and when I press repair, it just comes up again when I boot next
Intense lag
Sometimes 1-2 programs repeatedly open
Advanced Systemcare didn't help as much as it usually does and I can't seem to fix the problem. Anybody?
Uninstall windows defender.
Install Microsoft Security Essentials.

I've killed any processes I'm not familiar with, and checked through services.
Specs:
Graphics Card: ATI HD 4670
RAM: 2x2GB DDR2 RAM (4GB)
Processor: AMD Athlon 7850 black edition dual-core processor
Primary OS: Windows Vista x64
Might be the same thing that was happening with my grandmas computer.
Disable windows media player network sharing service
If you watch it for awhile in task manager its useing all of your ram causeing the slowdown and eventual crash. Generally just watch the task manager for odd process activity. Reeks of memory leak.

They're the same thing, you realize. How about installing Avast or Comodo.
Get rid of windows defender and advanced systemcare
Get CCleaner
Use msconfig to stop all unwanted programs starting with windows.
Worst case scenario backup valued data and re-install windoze
uninstalled and deleted some shit with ccleaner
currently running avast
17900 infected files
