• What has modern day done to ruin the old cartoons?

I'm pretty sure there is a bunch, as an example is the fact hoe the humor back on Spongebob was actually funny, not like today's rubbish.
I sneak into the animation studios and masturbate onto their scripts
Adventure Time is hilarious.
The new writers for Spongebob suck.
There's a rumor that the current staff of spongebob is purposely making the show bad to get it cancelled because they hate that it has become nickelodeon's money printing machine
i like yugioh
I just find it funny how when I watch old spongebob episodes I find them suddenly 10 times more hilarious then I did when I was a child. And the new ones I kind of sigh and turn off my cablebox so that they don't get any money.
Live. Action. Scooby. Do. Four words of death. Undeniable terror, Cretinous move. Kicking Rad original though. I wonder if they're going to revive the original? Nevermind anyway, CN will die eventually. Goddamn them. C N
I'm pretty sure there is a bunch, as an example is the fact hoe the humor back on Spongebob was actually funny, not like today's rubbish.
cartoons are the same as before you just grew up
cartoons are being forced to cater to todays youth of short attention span. New shows are either rip offs of old ones or filled with crazy nonsense that keeps the new viewers attention. Look at problem solverz, its just terribly obnoxious artwork slapped together in a chaotic story (if you can call it that) that forces as many stupid jokes as possible into a single episode. Luckily you have a few shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show that actually have a comprehensive plot in each episode and actually has character development. As for spongebob, its a damn shame what that show has become, its almost like a shitty parody of its golden years because now spongebob and patrick are overly dumb and naive and squdward sometimes acts overly flamboyant. Its a tragedy. Also, live action fairly odd parents movie... that is all.
opinions on cartoons are invariably colored by nostalgia and are 99% of the time absolutely terrible
I sneak into the animation studios and masturbate onto their scripts
Somehow this wouldn't surprise me. And I mean that in the best way possible. [editline]11th September 2011[/editline] And there are still good cartoons. I'm thinking that most people of this age group find modern cartoons crappy because the old cartoons were ours and the fact that we were kids when watching them. We're not kids anymore. We're teenagers or adults. We'd find them stupid anyhow, it's nostalgia that's keeping us from admitting it. As good as they may be, we're just not that age anymore. But if you want a good example of a modern cartoon (IMO), The Avengers one is pretty decent.
Old cartoons weren't just for kids, they had an all ages appeal. They were shows that the whole family could watch and enjoy
Scooby. Do.
Doo. Doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
To be honest the only good cartoons being made now are Regular Show, Adventure Time and, to be honest (probably gonna get flamed, knowing you guys but here it goes), MLP:FiM. They're the only shows that are funny not only to the target audience, but adults, and the writing and animation in all three of these shows is fantastic.
Arguably the worst show on any kids' channel currently:
Also I don't really pay any attention to the bad cartoons, but if one is said to be good by anyone, I'll look into it. Although there are obviously bad cartoons today, I'd consider it pretty off the mark to say that old cartoons inherently had a higher standard of quality. How many complete Jetsons episodes were memorable enough for you to recall now? Did you laugh at Grape Ape or Snagglepuss on a regular basis? Were the Snorks comedy gold? Would the original He-man or Thundercats grip your attention today? Could you manage to watch an episode of the Super Mario Brothers Super Show with a straight face if it got put back on the air?
the new looney toons show is an abomination. They are really milking daffy's stupidity...
all i know is that avatar was p good cant wait for part 2 this next year

Majority of the old Good Cartoons from the 90's (Rocko's modern life, Ren and Stimpy) were cancelled. now all cartoons are being pushed out for cheesy sit-com drama's what only 8 year old girls care about. Last good cartoon I watched would have to be like adventure time or invader zim.
I sneak into the animation studios and masturbate onto their scripts
Oh hi Tyler Durden [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] The key to cartoon success is Ponies. (I didn't say quality, I said success)
