Hello I'm new here so hello. Anyways I wanted to ask if any of you still remember the The Matrix trilogy. Yes many people say if was bad after the first film but they say that about most trilogy.I have alot of questions more than I had about the inception film. This film was a decade ago and spawned legit religions that was registered with the US government. So does any one remember how many "the one" existed before Neo? I remember they said something about it. But this film like changed my life and still affects me till this day and is the origin point of my career. But reflecting on the film has it become one of those films you have no issue watching on tv alot and still clueless on lots of stuff other ppl get?
What?
What?
What?
cmon... no one feels the same way
It changed his life but he can't remember the details, sorta sounds like someone's first drunken sexual experience.
You are the one?
I liked the Matrix films, and from what i've seen and heard, Inception feels a bit like The Matrix, only with less oppressive machines and more idea-heisting or whatever it is the team does.
Neo was the sixth One. That means there were 5 restarts of Matrix. He was the first to refuse, which would normally lead to annihilation of the human race. Fortunately thanks to Smith being a virus and fucking Machines' shit Neo was capable of stopping Smith and saving both the machines and Zion. By that he created peace between the two factions, sadly for him he died in the process.

Umm, don't let a movie affect you that much?

If you mean the question about the architect talking to Neo. That is a just a question. Its not like everyone remembers that conversation they had. I remember sitting in the theater and when they were talking. people were like wtf are they talking about. Due to the fact that the architects vocabulary was so huge only Neo could understand him
The Matrix attempted to wax philosophic and failed.
Don't read into it too much.

Well, that was a key part of the whole thing.

i think it did a good job. Its about the most deepest fiction revolving around philosophy I have seen. I'm looking at this wiki now and it has some meta shit all on these walls.

I thought there being 5 previous one's was a digg at Morphius' instinct, and they were other people he thought were the one but weren't

actually it's just basically the story of jesus
[editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
quest of ownage, do you realise that Neo was basically Jesus, right?
cypher was judas, etc
[editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
if the story changed your life, i think you've basically become a christian i guess
Ah yes The Matrix is by far my favorite trilogy and movie series of all time. If you want to put it simply then yes maybe there were only 5 previous versions of the matrix. But if you listen to the speech The Architect gives in the 2nd film he indicates the possibility of there being more than just 6 versions of the matrix. Just how many? I cant be sure, but other characters like Cypher from the 1st film or the Merovingian say a few things through out each film that could indicate to there being more versions.

lol well in the sense that I studied film intensely after the seeing it and worked in the industry as a intern until I was 17. Then Halo 3 came I have studying to hone my game artist skills to apply both acquired knowledge to bring in my visions but blah blah blah. Not the topic right now.
@ Teamgiant: yea I remember Merovingian talking about the failed versions and how he lived after the 5 restarts before him and he will live through that one. But even he was impressed by Neo
so if you studied it intensely surely you know it's a cyber punk version of the new testament
[QUOTE=Rusty100;29445922]so if you studied it intensely surely you know it's a cyber punk version of the new testament[/QUOTE]
I don't agree with that. yes its cyber punk but and I do see how you see the Bible in it. But I the core message of the films are open-mindedness. There is obvious spiritual elements such as in the Animatrix it shows how any spirituality can be used or mythology not just Christianity. But philosophy is the main way points are made in the films. It points out that with open mindedness and critical thinking and a rational mind all goals can be met but not without sacrifice
Just watch it with the Rifftrax and it will explain everything

Uh bro
the wachowski brothers have actually SAID this. it's a fact
not open to interpretation
[editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
the matrix = new testament. neo = jesus
[editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
so basically you intensely studied it and never actually even realised what it was
How ever, in any way, could Halo ever have anything to do with artism?
But then again, your name kind of explains everything you are saying.
Baaaaack to the tracks; I thought the background ideology of Matrix was to play with the idea that what we may preserve as "reality" is merely a simulation and the "God" merely a creature keeping us in that simulation

As in not to trust anything

Never thought about the 'Jesus' aspect thought
The first movie was awesome. The two movies after that ruined the first movie for me.
Watch Animatrix, if for nothing else, at least for Second Renaissance.
Then read about things which Kurzweil is talking about.
Then start stockpiling food and ammo.

By the way, I loved the first movie, and found seconds and third mediocre. Nothing excellent, but still decent and enjoyable.
Animatrix was awesome, especially the combat scenes.

You guys did not understand what I meant here. I studied film-making not this film. An to the halo 3 reference. I bought the legendary edition on release date. I watched the making of part and that got me changing careers fields. To the guy who seems to not understand what a game artist is. Everything you see in a game from the character to the trash is made by a game artist working at that particular studio. If you still don't get it please use google.
