Do you fight giant Colossi? If not then this is a lame boyfriend.
I really like the "Hacker" option. :v:
I'm like Neo.
Absolutely fantastic game.
I love how it becomes progressively more philosophical and surreal.
So is the best possible ending just [sp]choosing the option to not go out with her at all after the long talk[/sp] or is there some other segment I'm missing? It feels like [sp]the game is trying to tell me to just stick with that one, but my instincts are saying that there's still unexplored paths.[/sp]
This has me fucking stumped, is it even possible to win?

I'm pretty sure that's the only "win" condition. It feels like it wants to tell you something about win-conditions, and if you just won't stop playing, you get a deep talk about what the game wants to tell you, and then it lets you have a (sort of) win-condition.

The only way to win is [sp]not to play. Not going out with her is the only ending in which she doesn't die.[/sp]

That would have came across better if it didn't give me that cocktease "The (or at least one) End" message at the end. I wasted a whole extra hour going through dialogue paths to see if something else was different.
Well that was certainly a lesson in futility. Very nice.
Fuck man, this game caught me off guard.

[sp]I give up, I cannot find a way for her not to die by the aliens[/sp]

There is one better ending:
[sp] It is a joke one though. Edit IAMAHACKER.RPY and set the boolean to true. You will get an ending where you are an awesome hacker that can fly and you both live happily ever after. This opens another ending in the Hogwarts spot, but she dies there.[/sp]
I don't know if it's a better ending. [sp]The whole "I must have a 'You Win!' message, or else I haven't completed the game" idea is very explicitly looked down upon in the game. It's more about embracing that. Knowing that it is not necessarily possible to fix it all, and do it the one right way.[/sp]
This game got super fucking meta like five minutes in to a burger meal gone awry.
This game is brilliant
I guess the message of the game, was, as Felicia says, [sp] to create your own ending in your imagination [/sp]
Dumb but true, I guess. I've checked all possible scenarios, and nothing new appears. At some point, you're just that.

WHAT IS THE TRUE ENDING
TELL ME.
I am confused, I just want her to live even with going out with her.

Ever see the movie WarGames?
Think of how that ended. It should give you a good idea.
Sounds a bit like The Butterfly Effect.

But what if I didn't? Please PM or put in sp tags, im deadly curious on this.

[sp]The only way to win is not to play[/sp]
is it actually possible to get a "good" ending?
she seems set on the idea that she's always going to die, can we just leave?
Man I spent a good 3 hours with this.
[sp] The 'good' endings are to never go out with her at all. YOU are the sole reason all of this is happening. You lose a girlfriend but save a life that you've snuffed out numerous times in your greedy quest for a sense of satisfaction or to "be the hero". [/sp]
-snip- (just got to the hill)
This was a great game, it really made me think about life and existence and stuff.
Wow this chick just does not want to live.
When she gets shot I get to tell her to duck, when she gets blown to pieces I get to tell her to leave, but when she gets hit by a car I can't tell her to walk on the other side of the road or something. That's just stupid and undermines the whole point of any moral or life lesson this is supposed to teach me.

She gets hit as you walk out of the building.
I had to read the title of this thread about 4 times before I realised it actually did make sense and I'm an idiot.
