Heya, I am tonight willing to watch some good horror movie with a girl tonight. That is rentable of course, so no underground stuff then.
The criteria are somewhat the following:
The movies ''The Eye'' and ''The Orphanage'' are pretty good examples, something like these, so not massacre, more like psycho then.
Thanks
i thought mirrors was nice.

I don't know why, but I found The Fourth Kind horrifying. Just the idea of them being in your house, and you don't know it, and you won't remember, and. . .
*shudder*
Hostel Part II. Better than the first one!

The Thing.
Plan 9 From Outer Space. Enjoy.
My friend texted the same thing to ChaCha a couple weeks ago and they suggested "The Stand"

Ooo, Silent Hill was rather good considering it was a video game movie.
Parts of it were filmed in my home town too.

I was going to suggest this but it didn't seem to fit in with what he wanted. EXCELLENT film, even if the special effects are a little cheesy, but it's not about that.
The Stand miniseries is fantastic.
And Silent Hill is pretty shitty.

The special effects were fine. The visual effects were a bit off though. /nitpick :P
Honestly the only genuinely scary horror movie I've ever seen is The Mothman Prophecies. Never saw all of it, but it is uncomfortably freaky. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0265349/
Other than that I would heartily recommend "A Haunting" from Discovery channel. Not a horror movie per say, but tremendously disturbing. The stories are from some ill-sourced ghost stories book. But the sheer documentarish expression of the show is... haunting. It may not be factual, but it damn well does a good job of appearing that way. If there ever were "real" ghost stories, these would be them.
Eek... D:
The effects of the dramatized footage are really great too, at least for a TV show. Most of the time it looks uncomfortably real.
And that narrators voice... gets me every time.
