I really hope the build quality is not utter shit like microsoft's Xbox One controllers, they are utter shite.
why?
like, what's the point - most controllers offer some form of cross compatibility and it's blatantly obvious that the design is heavily inspired by the X360 controllers... why wouldn't you just use an x360 controller in that case?
I literally have a wired 360 controller on my desk right now that looks identical to this.
Looks like I'll def have to buy a new one!

Well for once only the new XBox One controller would work wireless with Android.
Other reasons for offbrand controllers would be price and/or quality.
Old X360 controller also needs a special wireless kit while newer or offbrands usually work with almost all BT dongles or devices.
I don't see the problem with those controllers, that is if they are competitive in price and performance.
Although I still have my X360 controller with Wireless Kit, so I'm not that concerned about it.
I wish I could get used to anything other than the DualShock layout. Every time I look down at my controller and see cross, triangle, circle, square, I get confused as hell when A B X Y pop up in a PC game, but it feels too comfortable

My Xbox One's right bumper is starting to fail, won't respond sometimes when I press it
Meanwhile the old Xbox 360 controllers that I have work perfectly besides the fact that it has slight stick drift
Once that one fails I'll probably get a DualShock 4, hope it has better build quality

360 controllers have upsettingly large deadzones you have to account for, sometimes upward of 20% tilt from center, whereas none of my xbo controllers have had bad tilt over ~7%
I guess it's good news for people used to XBox controllers. I've been using the dual shock based Logitech Rumblepad/F340(?) For a long while myself.
I'm interested to see if anyone can design a better Steam Controller
I transitioned to Steam controller just weeks ago and I don't think I can go back anymore.
I really, really liked the Xbox One controller, if mine's circuits weren't fried I would still be happily using it without complaints.

Whats the deal with these 8-way dpads? Are they better than the normal ones?
The Xbox One controller is for me the best one. I tried the Steam one but gosh it dosen't feel right:pudge:

They can be good for some platformers.
The Steam controller isn't really meant to replace console controllers, it's more of a bad alternative to mouse and keyboard. It works for playing from a couch, not so much to be competitive in games other Rocket League.

I've owned a PS4 since release year and the only times I've had to buy a new one were when my dumbass of a brother left in the floor where his dumbass dog could eat it.
As long as you're not throwing your controller across the room, the DS4 holds up very well.

Wired 360 controller also, Even took it apart and filed the circles around the analogue sticks down a bit so they're wider so they sticks can actually use their full movement (Noticed in Kerbal when I pulled back on the stick, it was only going about 75% input)
I see no reason to change

its a thing where if I move it slighty to the left it stays stuck off-center and makes the character move
dont think its a deadzone thing, unless i dont understand the actual concept :v:

what upsets me about the Xbox One controller is that its only a year old~ish
the 360's are several years old and they held up just fine, oh and also i forgot to mention the 360's Y button gets stuck if you dont press it

I don't want to feed the Microsoft console machine, but despite not owning a console I still have a few controllers for emulation and dark souls. It's nice to know I can avoid the console market if I wanted.

have you ever used an X1 controller?

Xbox 360 and One controllers work with Windows natively

Because while the 360 Controller has a great button layout and is super comfy to hold. The D-pad is fucking awful

I see people say this quite often. I feel like I am the only one that loves the 360 D-Pad more than anything.

Gotta love how the thing is actually 7-sided. Who the fuck thought this was a good idea? :v:

I have and they feel like cheap Chinese 360 controller knock off.
Xbox 360 and One controllers work with Windows natively
Yeah, and I have both Xbox 360 and Xbox one controllers. I feel bad that I'm supporting future console development by buying them. Consoles are a scam imo, now if I need a new controller I'll definitely get one of these instead.
Unless they intend to make it easier to get a controller (In Canada, $60 for a licensed controller is typical), i don't see much point.
I really hope the build quality is not utter shit like microsoft's Xbox One controllers, they are utter shite.
i really hate to be the guy telling you to spend more money, but the xbox one elite controller is incredibly good. probably the nicest build quality of any controller i own (next to anything made of nintendium)

Bad alternative is a bad description. It's way the hell worth it once you're used to it. But it deffo won't like, mix with everyone.
It's also not meant to be an alternative to KB/M, but an alternative/mix of both controllers and keyboards, so its kinda, in a good mix of both. Console controllers pretty much are all exactly the same rehashes of eachother, and keyboard/mice are great but some people want a controller like me without massive compromise.
I've been able to recently beat DOOM and Dusk ep 1 with it, even playing RotTR with it. I've been doing doom online and doing fairly well taking people out with the pistol longish range, I've even had a decent number of matches with it. I'm not going to say that trackpad+gyro is as good as a mouse, but I honestly only see it causing issues for me in long range tracking, and super close range, I've always been a mid range guy.
its like as good as this MSI one its literally the same shit we've had for over a decade now. it's nothing new at all.
[editline]5th October 2017[/editline]
If I had 2 other alternatives I'd go with the wii u pro controller and a high quality one handed controller so you can use a controller + mouse combo

I mean that's about the price of a good mouse too
