Holy shit this is frustrating and annoying
My head hurts...
Weird for a very outspoken atheist to make a video hypothesising a universe with a definite creator.
Weird for a very outspoken atheist to make a video hypothesising a universe with a definite creator.
Maybe a change in opinion or idea.
Weird for a very outspoken atheist to make a video hypothesising a universe with a definite creator.
Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods. Older dictionaries define atheism as "a belief that there is no God."
The dialogue reminds me of an early 2000's PlayStation 2 game for some reason

Never saw this analogy before. The video was pretty badly produced but the idea is pretty solid.
metal gear solid 2
I think it's more the voice acting really, reminds me of Silent Hill 2 with that forced and aggressive yet somewhat believable delivery.

this falls apart once you realize a poorly animated video and real life are not analogous
oh god I skipped ahead right to "maybe they could.. pause time or skip forward..." freaking the fuck out fuck you and your universe.
Some of his videos i watched that were very Anti-Christian barely even made sense to me half of the time. Mostly since I'm just watching and saying "This guy has no idea of how this works..." Whats more better to understand religion from, a priest or historian who has studied religion for almost 30 years. Or some butthurt Anti-Theist from the internet.
Best is to just read the book yourself lmao.
this falls apart once you realize a poorly animated video and real life are not analogous
I'm gonna play the very outspoken atheist here, but I've read that scientist say that the universe may just be simulation, or a hologram. And time itself being relative could suggest that the whole universe as it was, as it is, and as it will be exists as one thing. We're just flowing through it. It could be god, it could be multiverse, all we know for sure is that we can't find out for sure. This video really is just a version of the flatlander example used to explain dimensions, the guys in the video being flatlanders living in their 2D world.
This seems like a really weird way to play gotcha with theists. "Look at how stupid this logic is! HOW COULD ANYONE BELIEVE THIS!" At least, that's the way it's presented.
The video quality reminded me of all those terrible Negotiator games on Newgrounds, so I couldn't take it seriously at all.
I thought it was an interesting enough thought experiment.
Would have been a pretty enjoyable video if it wasn't for the terrible animation and voice acting. I especially liked the very awkward and forced "black guy" voice for the theist character.
i thought this would be a vsauce video
If you guys like this sort of mind-screw (just better implemented), you could check out the book "House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski. It's a book within a book within a book within a book and so on. Read it alone in a dark room by yourself and you'll really start to question your sense of reality and so forth, especially if you follow the ARG stuff that extends out of it on the forums for it .
i am going to post this on my facebook without watching the entire thing to see what people think!

I thought it was a bit over-hyped in some ways, but certainly a good read nevertheless.
