Hi, i've recently ordered alot of parts for a new computer that i'm going to build, but the computer i have now is standing on my the floor, close to my bed and such, and it gets really dusty all the time, and it's really clean under my table, no dust what so ever
and i vaccumed the computer several times, and i'm allergic to dust, so yeah.
So i was just wondering, if i should have my new computer up on the table, or down on the floor?
If its on the floor, you will probably have to dust it out more.
Thats it.
Table = less dust.
Vacuuming a computer is a great way to break it, it causes loads of static, try to avoid it in future.
Compressed air is the best way to clean out the dust in a computer.

I've vacuumed my computer more times than I can count, never broke it.

This doesnt mean it isnt bad. It just means that you are lucky.
I wonder what you guys would say about me blasting a PC with a garden hose :v:

Remove the CMOS battery, make sure it's not plugged in and it's fine.
Well unless your garden hose has enough pressure to break caps/remove them from the motherboard and there might be some conductive residue after doing it but that's unlikely to cause any problem.

You probably wouldn't even need to remove the CMOS battery, it isn't capable of serious damage.

You ever been to a woodshop in a high school?
Quite often.

On the table due to your allergies.

I can't even count how many times the fire alarm has gone off from the dust in the woodshop. I'm building a bass in electric guitar building and whenever someone leaves the door open and we're working, it gets up to the ceiling and sets off the alarm outside the door; then the whole school gets a short break outside.

We had a kid set a fire in a locker last year. Closest we came to a break outside, which ended up being that we got out of school early since it burned the shit out of the ceiling tiles.
I'm pretty sure the wood shop at my school doesn't even have a smoke alarm. :tinfoil:
