They are the songs you cannot get out of your head. Now scientists may have found a way to help anyone plagued by those annoying tunes that lodge themselves inside our heads and repeat on an endless loop.
Researchers claim the best way to stopping the phenomenon, sometimes known as earworms – where snippets of a catchy song inexplicably play like a broken record in your brain – is to solve some tricky anagrams.
This can force the intrusive music out of your working memory, they say, allowing it to be replaced with other more amenable thoughts.
I prefer the oldfashioned method of getting a more enjoyable song stuck in my head.
Let the bodies hit the floor.
Yay now I no longer have to think I'm a sweet transvestite.

Well, that interpretation assumes that I enjoy ebola more than cancer now doesn't it?
That and a song isn't lethal in and of itself.

then you'll never have new audio input and NO escape at all from the song.

It wasn't a brief psychotic episode, it was an awful joke.
I thought they already developed a remedy?
Although I guess this is more effective that a twelve gauge to the brain.

You really had to do that did you.
Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down and
I currently have the loop of the first part of the new daft punk song in my head.
I guess I'm just lucky I've got a symbiotic earworm at the moment.
I don't mind earworms. Just as long as they are good songs.
Have some music to match the theme of this event.

The best way to get a song out of your head is to play videogames, watch a movie or listen to a more enjoyable song [as was previously said]. Maybe that only works for me.
The only songs that seem to get stuck in my head are song's I like so I don't really have that much of a problem.
Let the bodies hit the floor.
And I just thought that this wouldn't come in handy.
now we can finally kill that interior crocodile alligator and his Chevrolet movie theater
The most horrible ''songs'' that get stuck in my head are the commercial songs..
They are so horrible that if they get stuck in my head I wanna kill myself.
The rememedy for me is to find and hear the lyrics that I forgot. The song kinda loops in my head until I figure it out. Once I know it though I'm all good.
An anagram of anagram is maa garn.
