• ATI HD6770 + Dual monitor setup.

Hi all. I have a desktop PC here with a 6770, and I'm having an issue setting up dual monitors (One isn't detected.) Both monitors are VGA. I'm fairly sure that the problem lays with ATI's NOTORIOUS fault/moronic design feature where you can't have 2 analogue signals on a single card. Just wanted to clarify it, any other suggestions?
Hi what kind of 6770 and what kind of adapter are you suing. Also why would you use VGA and why would oyu use VGA with a 6770
Yes it is possible no you shouldn't be using it.
Yes. Both monitors are VGA. This computer isn't used for gaming, and so expensive digital signals are useless. This also means DVI > VGA adapters on both connections. On the other hand, I've tried the unplugging / plugging thing. And I read a while ago (I have the same problem with my 6850) that ATI buggered up their architecture somehow and restricted dual analogue outputs. So more recent cards can't support. I assume this is why your 9250SE allowed it to work. I really do appreciate your help though. I guess the only way is to find a snazzy, expensive signal converter... I guess a new monitor is in order :)
