Great Britain's National Broadband delayed by Three (3) years

[release]"The British government has said that it will not be able to complete the rollout of broadband across the UK until 2015, blaming a lack of funds. 'Under the previous Labour government's original plans, everyone in the UK would have had access to 2 megabits per second broadband by 2012.' On Thursday, UK Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt organized a meeting for major broadband providers 'to identify the current barriers to providing basic level broadband in rural areas as well as suggesting ways to make more use of publicly-owned networks, such as those connecting schools and hospitals.' BT, the country's biggest telco, estimates that the necessary government funding for the project will be as much as £2 billion."

Well that sucks. Although, it's good news for the people selling adult magazines. They were going to probably go under if everyone had access to free porn.
You know that people buy porn mags for things other than the porn, right?

Wow, most parts in Norway we almost have a standard of 120Mbit.
Lol 2mb/s UK is miles behind its peers in europe
That's what you get for voting on the political right.

there are only 12 people living in norway and their houses are all within a 100 metres of each other
the UK has 60 million people plus with a vast ageing infrastructure to update

it was actually mostly (pretty much entirely) England excluding London who voted conservative, which the rest of the UK has to put up with
I get 5 or 6mb/s, if the national level was set to 10mb/s, it would be better.

The government once again proves how useless it is, maybe they should get a reward?- Oh wait, they are already overpaid.
I get 16 - 20mb connection and I'm in the UK.
People outside the UK have to remember that most people have broadband anyway.
79.2 percent of UK Internet connections via broadband - 2006
